OBITUARIES Patricia Brien Patricia Brien, 79, a 12-year resident of Shelton, died of natural causes Dec. 19, 2013, at home. She was born Aug. 3, 1934, to Gordon C. and Janet B. Dodge. She married Gary Brien on June 27, 1952, in Worcester, Mass, She lived her life as a mother and military wife. She was a Kitsap County master food preserver and worked as a county extension volunteer. Patricia was " an avid reader and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She is survived by her husband; daugh- ters Sandi Snook and Sharon McCord; eight grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; and many lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her p.arents and younger brother. A memorial service will be at a later date. Samuel Lynch Samuel (Sam) B. Lynch, 78, a resident of Shelton, died Dec. 12, 2013, in Shelton. He was born Aug. 18, ,:o 1935, in Gads- den,  Ala., to Jeffrey Lynch and Iantha (In- Lynch gram). He and was married June 12, 1955, in Anniston, Ala. Sam was a welder and a millwright, and _OWEST-PRICE GUARANTEEE . He was a devoted Jehovah's Witness, spending many hours volunteering as a Bible teacher. Sam is survived by daughter India Bublitz of Shelton; sister Dixie Miller of Cullman, Ala.; grandchildren Mariah (John) Pede and Logan Bublitz of Shelton; and great-granddaughter Hayzel Pede. He was preceded in death by son Jody; wife Paula; three brothers; four sisters; and his par- ents. A memorial service took place Dec. 28 at Kingdom Hall of Jeho- vah's Witnesses. Arrangements are by Forest Funeral Home of Shelton under the direc- tion of Dave Lucas. Muriel and her husband Joe had moved to Shelton in 1975. Muriel loved being a hostess in her Shelton home to her family and many friends. She had come from a family of six brothers and two sisters whose family tradition was to get together and have group sing-a-longs. She had belonged to several church choirs both in New York and Washington. Muriel was a patriot who loved her country and her flag. A Catholic with strong faith all of her life, she has gone home to be with the Lord and her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Tindall of Shelton, WA, son and daughter-in-law Matt and Sheliah McRea of Olympia, WA, 11 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren A memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 1 lth at 11 a.m. at St. Edwards Catholic Church located at 601 W. C Street, Shelton. A Celebration of Life and a potluck will follow at 1 p.m, at The Beginning Christian Church located at 2521 W. State Route 8, Shelton, 2 miles past Little Creek Casino toward McCleary.
