Fire guts garage on Franklin Street

A fire that started in the:garage of
a house on Franklin Street last week
was started by accident, said Chief
Tim McKern of Central Mason Fire &
EMS.
The fire, which started at 7:07 p.m.
on Feb. 19 destroyed a garage at 911
West Franklin St.
Central Mason Fire & EMS, and
Mason County Fire Districts 4 and 11
responded.
The damage was contained to the
garage and no injuries were reported,
according to Central Mason.
The cause of the fire was acciden-
tal. Central Mason does not have an
estimate for the cost of the damage.
The Red Cross is working with the
home's residents.
