Boys' rugby shuts
out Tacoma
The Shelton boys' rugby 15s team de-
feated the Tacoma Tsunami 13-0 Satur-
day at Oakland Bay Junior High School.
"We knew Tacoma would bring us a
hard hitting game because they always
bring good-sized people," coach Zach
Clark said. "We prepared for that by us-
ing our side game. We gained about 20
yards every time we got the ball."
Jake Drouyor scored Shelton's lone
try, while Gordon Henry made the
team's conversion kicks.
Girls' rugby wins
friendly match
The Shelton girls' rugby 15s team
won a friendly exhibition match against
Yelm on Sunday, 40-25.
'relm was forced to forfeit with 0nly
12 girls on the roster," coach Zach Clark
said. "We brought girls over there be-
cause more than half our team is new."
Four Shelton girls played on the Yelm
side, with one of them scoring against

Although one of Yelm's players was

said the Shelton girls agreed to allow her
to play in preparation for their upcoming
match against Kent.
Karli Burbridge made four tries and
two conversion for Shelton, while Twana
Machado made three tries.
'We had a bunch of first-years play
wonderfully," Clark said. "The girls were
