Olympia defeats SHS boys golf By EMILY HANSON emily@masoncoun com Stormy conditions af- fected the Shelton boys golf team's performance last week. "It was really rainy with a stretch of pretty heavy gusts of wind for about four holes," head coach Mark Jensen said. Three golfers returning from last year's 4A W4AA State Boys Golf Champion- ship for Olympia contrib- uted to the Bears' 73-50 defeat of the Highclimbers on April 3 at Tumwater Valley Golf Course. "Olympia's pretty load- ed," Jensen said. "Olym- pia and Bellarmine are the two best in the 4A." Despite the weather and competition, Grant Cation had a solid round on the nine-hole, par-36 course, Jensen said. Cation led the High- climbers with 16 points. He shot two over par. Nick Guyer earned 11 points, while Mitchell DeAndre contributed 10 points. Tyler Speaks and Colby Fuller rounded out the team's score with seven and six points. The Highclimbers (2-2) play at 2:45 p.m. against Wilson at Allen- more Golf Course in Ta- coma.
