Project Description The project entails replac;- ment of an existing (completely) failed 36 in( h culvert under Northcliff Road. The failure, whk h occurred during the last long term/intense stor n of the season during the weekend of March 1. |, 2014, has caused a sink hole under the sidewa k on the west side of the road and is in immedia' e need of replacement. This project proposes o remove the failed 36" concrete culvert in favor, )f replacement with a 30" HDPE culvert pipe. TP e project also includes removal and replacement, )f two catch basins and associated pipe (located n the street directly above the culvert), removal ar d installation of a new storm drainage system ma= i- hole and removal and replacement of the strees and sidewalk above the trench (anticipated 'o be +/- 25 to 30 feet wide). Existing streamflo N would be routed to the existing Canyon Cre( k storm overflow system and a certain amount )f bypass water is anticipated to be pumped arour d the location of the proposed work location to tP e downstream area of Canyon Creek to ensure tP e creek bed has adequate flow throughout the co= i- truction process (amount of bypass water to Ie determined during the HPA process) Required Permits: Required permits include Hydraullc Project Approval (HPA) and SEPA threshord determination. Environmental Review: The Ci, has reviewed the proposed project for proba.ble adverse environmental impacts and expects' to issue a Mitigated Determination of Non-Signi' cance (MDNS) for this project. The optional DN process contained in WAC 197-11-355 is beir used. This may be your only opportunity to cor ment on the environmental impacts of the pr posed project. Agencies, tribes, and the publ are encouraged to review and comment on tP proposed project and its probable environment impacts. The City of Shelton has determined th potential impacts that may result from the pro ect are addressed by the design of the proje and with the addition of the following mitigatk measures: 1.
