Thursday, June 5, 2014 - Mason County Journal - Page A-25 A section of the Mason County Journal Belfair Thursday, June 5, 2014 - Serving the communities of Belfair, Allyn, GrapeView, Tahuya, Mason Lake, South Shore and Victor North Mason Relay for Life starts tomorrow By NATALIE JOHNSON natafie@masoncounty, com You still have time to par- ticipate in the North Mason Relay for Life. The 16th annual event will kick off at 7 p.m. tomorrow and last until 1 p.m. Satur- day at North Mason High School. All proceeds from the event go to the American Cancer Society. "We are focusing on a younger crowd this year," publicity chair Brian Dorsey said. "The Boy Scouts will be doing the color guard, we will be honoring an elemen- tary school child who passed away last year, and the guest speaker will be Emily Dorsey, an 18 year old who lost her best friend to cancer when they were 14." This year, 18 teams and 206 participants have signed up for the event. Last year, 24 teams signed up for the event.
