continued from page A-22 Ernestine Nicklaus Ernestine J. (Crane) Nicklaus, 82, an eight- year resident of Arizona City, Arizona, died June 12, 2014, in Shel- ton. She was born July 26, 1931, to Eugene Semple Young and Ruby Grindred in Shel- ton. Ernestine married Arthur Nicklaus Sr. on March 31, 1951, at St. David of Wales Episcopal Church in Shelton. She was a homemak- er and part owner of Archnicks Tole Cottage in Shelton in the early 1980s. She was also part owner and manager of Spencer Lake Grocery for several years in the early 1990s. Ernie painted and taught tole painting. She loved and encour- aged people. She is survived by husband Arthur of Arizona City; sons Art (Julee) Nicklaus Jr. of Shelton, Kim D. "Bob" (Stephanie) Nicklaus of Hillsboro, Oregon and Kristofer P. (Michele) Nicklaus of Brethoud, Colorado; seven grandchildren; and four great-grand- children. A memorial will be at 2 p.m. July 12 at the Shelton Civic Center, 525 Cota St., Shelton. She will be inurned. Arrangements are by McComb & Wagner Funeral Home and Cre- matory. The family asks that everyone perform a ran- dom act of kindness in lieu of donations. Anneffe Sele Annette Settle (Med- calf), 58, died June 21, 2014, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. She was born Feb. 5, 1956, to Ronald and Jeanette (Springer) Thomas in La Mesa, California. Annette spent most of her life as a resident of Shelton, and was a caregiver. In December 1973, Annette married Dan Medcalf, the father of her three children. The couple divorced in 1994. On July 14, 2012, she married Ste- ven Settle in Olympia. She loved spend- ing time with family, friends and the love of her life. She also enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening, animals, and the peace- fulness of her favorite place in Brinnon. Annette is sur- vived by her mother, Jeanette Thomas of Olympia; husband Steven Settle of Shel- ton; sons Pete (Kelle) Medcalf and James (Kara) Medcalf of Shelton; daughter Mary (Ricardo) Lucero of Rochester; brothers Ron (Tara) Thomas of Tenino, and Randy (Dinna) of Rainier; grandchildren Alexis, Tyler, Ricardo Jr., Alyssa, Jayce and Mariah; and extended family Jason (Jessie), Jamie (Nikki), Mar- shall (Artemia), Rea- gan (Brandon), Joslyn, Nora, Cole, Gage, Ash- ton and Beckham. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Thomas, who died Dec. 30, 2013. A funeral will be at 1 p.m. July 12 at Brinnon Community Church, officiated by pastor Dan Kennedy. Johnathon Morgan Larsen Johnathon Morgan Larsen, a boy, was born June 17, 2014, at Capital Medical Center in Olympia to Nick- ole Marie Larsen and Johnathon James Larsen of Olympia. He was 7 pounds, 15 ounces. Demi Lou Kerwin Demi Lou Kerwin, a girl, was born June 16, 2014, at Capital Medical Center in Olympia to Sara D. Nutt and Brendan D. Kerwin of Shelton. She was 6 pounds, 9 ounces. Dante Forest Pope Dante Forest Pope, a boy, was born June 10, 2014, at Capital Medi- cal Center in Olympia to Sara B. Kindred and Forest AJ Pope of Shel- ton.
