CALL 7-8044 ........ Phoebe Iola Norwood Phoebe Iola Norwood entered into rest on June 25th 2014, at her home with family by her side, after a long and challenging battle with cancer. She was 72. Phoebe was born on September 12th to Ora and Arra Lester in Olympia, the eldest of 5 children. She was raised all over Western Washington, marrying and starting her family in Yelm. A bit of a free spirit, she remained in Velm with her three children, Tammera, Cheryl, and Lonnie until moving on to a new journey. In 1976, after a few years of relocating around the Pen- insula, she settled in Shelton where she met her husband, Mike. In 1978, after a couple of"lost years", they married and welcomed their son, Christofer. Phoebe was smart, opinionated, and feisty and even in her last weeks, little was lost on her. She enjoyed deco- rating (and redecorating regularly) her home, frequently putting together floral and silk flower arrangements with creative flair to add to her ever growing and changing collection. She had a knack for fashion; always impec- cably dressed and accessorized, a great appreciation for art; particularly paintings, a love of birds, and the green- est of green thumbs. She started each morning, bright and early, but the day wouldfft begin without a cup of coffee and "putting on her face". Phoebe is best known for her gift of gardening and spent many mornings and evenings tending to her glorious and flourishing beds. Phoebe was a member of the Shelton Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and had been a faithful member for many years. While her physical strength deteriorated over time, her spiritual strength, faith, and devotion to- Jehovah was maintained through regular and continued Bible stud : Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who love her, in the fragrance of a spaghetti dinner, in the sounds of songbirds that greet us in the morning, in the chal- lenge of a crossword puzzle, and in the dewdrops that nourish a garden. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Mike Nor- wood, her four children, Tammera Loomis of Anchor- age, Alaska, Cheryl Lawton of Shelton, Lonnie (Betsey) Lawton of Port Angeles, and Chris (Valerie) Norwood of Shelton, 3 brothers and a sister, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great=grandchildren with one on the way, as well as "lots" of nieces and nephews; all, who love her very much. Her parents, Ora and Arra Lester, precede her in death. Please join us in celebrating her life; a memorial will be held July 19th, 2014, at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 11 W Sentry Ct., Shelton, Wa. A re- ceoption will follow at the Shelton Civic Center, 525 West Cota Street, Shelton, Wa" m9 economlca ~] ~- PAID OBITUARY NOTICE ~ r~ Marilyn Thompson Marilyn J.
