The day started with a yard sale, where shoppers found a vari- ety of items. Children played on the inflated fire truck and checked out the real thing at the Grapeview Fire Hall while parents shopped and social- ized. The Firehouse 5K ram/walk, which ran between Stretch and Treasure Islands, included 25 con- testants. The grand finale was a pig roast -- Glenn Hoopman once again fired up his roaster and cooked 300 pounds of pig. According to organizers, the pork sandwiches, butter-dipped corn on the cob, baked beans and coleslaw received lots of compli- ments The Rustlewood community provided chilled watermelon for dessert. Event sponsors included Hunter Farms, Cash and Carry, Safeway, McDonald's, QFC, Franz Bakery and Stretch Island Fruit Company.
