Oct.. 15 Shoplifting -- At 10:25 a.m., a caller reported three people shoplifting alcohol at the Belfair Safe- way in the 23000 block of Northeast state Route 3. An employee reportedly saw a woman leave with- out paying for meet, liquor, groceries and a movie. The store recovered some of the items taken, includ- ing the movie and some groceries. The woman is accused of stealing $200 of meat and $200 of alco- hol. Burglary -- At 11:03 a.m., a burglary was reported in the 200 block of East Dunoon Place near Mason Lake. The caller reported a shed was broken into and power tools and a 13-foot cargo trailer were taken. Oct. 16 Animal -- At 8:53 p.m., a caller on East Rainier Court in Allyn reported a bear in their backyard. According to the Mason County Sheriff's Office, the bear did not seem aggres- sive but ran at a resident. One resident of the home reportedly fired a gun at the bear to scare it.The bear was not injured. Oct. 17 Assault -- At 12:11 a.m., a caller in the 700 block of Northeast Larson Lake Road in Belfair reported that his wife attacked him with a knife. The woman was arrested for assault in the fourth degree, accord- ing to the Sheriff's Office. Alcohol was involved in the incident. Mason County Sheriff's officers respond- ed. No further information was available. Burglary -- At 11:02 a.m., a caller from the 700 block of Northeast Mountain View Drive in Tahuya reported that his or her house had been burglarized for the second time in a week. Accord- ing to the Mason County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded and found that the suspect broke into the garage by making a hole in the wall. Reckless driving -- At 6:18 p.m. a caller on East Grapeview Loop Road in Allyn reported that three drivers were racing cars. Oct. 20 Suspicious -- At 2:36 p.m., on Northeast Tahuya River Drive in Tahuya, a caller reported seeing a car following a mail carder and taking mail from mail- boxes.
