Page A-2 - Mason County Journal - Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014 Woman charg with veh homicide in state Route 3 icular crash STAFF REPORT news@masoncoun com A Shelton woman was charged with vehicular homicide in a crash on state Route 3 that killed another driver. Jessica A. Denys, 23, of Shelton was driving north on state Route 3 near Deer Creek, five miles north of Shelton, in a black 2005 Acura TL at 6:39 a.m. on Sunday. According to the Washington State Patrol, Denys crossed a dou- ble yellow line and attempted to pass multiple vehicles. Her vehicle then collided with a green 1995 Honda Civic driven by Crystal Fern Allmendinger, 20, of Shelton. Allmendinger was pronounced dead at the scene. Denys was injured and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The road was blocked for four hours. Improper passing caused the acci- dent, according to the state patrol. Investigators do not suspect drugs or alcohol were involved. woman in e STAFF REPORT news@masoncoun com A Shelton woman injured in a Sep- tember car accident died last week, ac- cording to the Washington State Patrol. Kathleen V. Price, 68, died Oct. 22 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was airlifted ai r a head-on collision Sept. 27. Price was driving a white 2014 Volkswagen Jetta southbound on U.S. Highway 101 two miles north of Hood- sport when she crossed the center line and struck a second vehicle, a silver 2001 Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 65-year-old woman from Nordland, according to the WSP. The second driver was injured and taken to Mason General Hospital. No other details were available about the driver's condition. The accident is under investigation, according to the WSP.
