Page B-2 - Mason County Journal - Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014 FLY ON THE SIDELINE By EMILY HANSON A yfter the Shelton vol- ball team's se- or night game last week, head coach Steve Beck surprised me. While talking to him about the team's Oct. 22 home match against Foss, he made it clear that he wanted the match to be fun for the seniors. I'm not used to hear- ing a coach say the main priority of a league contest was to have fun. I found it refreshing. This was an easier match than most for the Lady Highclimbers to fo- cus on the fun. Foss didn't have a very competitive team. Shel- ton handled the Lady Falcons easily in three games winning 25-15, 25- 9, 25-6. The Shelton seniors -- Lauren Dagle, Jessica Johnson, Heather John- son, Georgette Lugalia, Kennedy O'Connor and Heather Van Otten -- were given priority when it came to playing time. "We had fun," Beck said. "That was our goal ... it helped because it was senior night and our bench was so good at hoot- ing and hollering. That helped keep them focused and have fun." see SIDELINE, page B-5 FOOTBALL Shelton Friday -- Shelton 34, Mount Tahoma 7 SHS ..... 21 7 0 6- 34 MT ......... 0 0 0 7 -- 7 SHS MT Passing 9 yds21 yds Rushing 395 yds 196 yds SHS: J.
