Lois C. Scott
Lois C. Scott passed away on Saturday, October
26, 2014. She was 85 years young. Lois was born
in Rushford, Minnesota on December 18, 1928. Her
husband. Leon (Fuzzy) Scott, preceded her in death on
February 7, 2000. They were married over 50 years.
Lois grew up in Minnesota with her mother, Anna
and younger sister Geraldine. She moved to Portland
to attend secretarial school, then later moved to Shelton
where she met Leon. One thing led to another and they
were married. Lois and Fuzzy had three children: Cheryl,
Holly and Peter. Of course, they were perfect! - No, wait,
it was just the Grandchildren that were perfect.
As the kids grew up, Lois worked. First for State
Government, then later for Mason County, where she
worked in the Assessor's Office. She eventually ran for
and was elected Mason County Assessor. A horrible,
stressful and unpopular job!!!! Once she retired, she and
Fuzzy traveled to Alaska, Arizona, Mexico, Hawaii, and
many other places. They made lots of friends along the
way.
Mom still has many, many friends (and relatives who
also qualify). She liked to eat Mexican food and have an
occasional Margarita. She loved crafts, sewing and art
projects. She worked on hand stitched items even though
she was plagued by arthritis, she just worked through the
pain. Lois helped anyone who needed it. She went out of
her way to make people welcome.
She gave to several causes and volunteered for
community events (Oysterfest, County Fair. Orthopedic
Guild, and others). She enjoyed her two major food
groups more than any others: chocolate and CocaCola.
Lois was kind, thoughtful, generous and always
thought the best about people.
Lois is survived by her sister, Gerry Himlie (Vince),
her children Cheryl Kimbel (George), Holly Clary
(Jerry), Peter Scott (Maria), and Judy Kenyon (Roger)...
In addition, grandchildren Levi Dean (Laura), Casey
Dean (Katie), Amber Deluga (Eric), and Autumn Barbero
(Brian); great-grandchildren Kendal, Gage, Hadly,
Grayson, Madison, Marissa, Abigail, Amelia, and Joella.
There will be a Celebration of Her Life on Saturday,
November 8th from I:00PM to 4:00PM at the Faith
Lutheran Church, Fellowship Hall.
