Critical violations (red) and noncriti- cal violations (blue) are listed and are assigned a point value based on their seriousness. Critical violations, if left uncorrected, are more likely to lead to food contamination or foodborne illness. Noncritical violations do not directly relate to causing foodborne illnesses but could hinder the opera- tion of the restaurant. Establishments are typically inspected once or twice each year.
