Darrell Denniston
Darrell D. Dennis-
ton, 90, died Nov. 12,
2014, at Puget Sound
Healthcare in Olym-
pia.
He was born Dec. 5,
1923, to Jefferson and
Leslie (Robbin) Den-
niston in Pequot Lakes,
Minnesota.
Darrell served in the
Army from May 1943 to
December 1945; he re-
ceived the Military Or-
der o.f the Purple Heart
two times.
He married Char-
lotte (Harrington)
Denniston on March 3,
1946, in Pequot Lakes,
Minnesota.
Darrell worked as
an accountant for the
Simpson Lumber Co.,
as a truck driver for
the construction of
the Alaskan-Canadian
highway and as a
butcher.
He was a board
member of the then-
Simpson Employees
Credit Union and a
member of the Bay-
shore Golf Club.
He enjoyed riding his
Harley Davidson motor-
cycle and silver jewelry
making.
Darrell is survived
by daughters Dolanda
(Jim) Ball of Olym-
pia and Junell (Toby)
Villines of Shelton,
son Rob (Lynn) Den-
niston of Olympia,
brother Dexter Den-
niston of Minneapolis;
13 grandchildren, 20
great-grandchildren,
one great-great-
grandchild, and nu-
merous nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in
death by wife Char-
lotte Denniston, four
sisters and four broth-
ers.
A memorial will be
at 1 p.m. Nov. 22 at
Shelton Presbyterian
Church in Shelton.
