Thursday, Nov. 27,2014 -Mason County Journal - Page A-19 Evelyn Hubbard Evelyn Marian (Coff- man) Hubbard, 92, died Nov. 16, 2014, at home in Shelton. She was born Dec. 24, 1921, to Miles H. and Marian R. (Morton) Coff- man in Tacoma. In the early 1940s, Evelyn married Harold Higley. The couple later divorced. She was mar- ried to John E. Hubbard from 1947 until his death in 1985. Evelyn is survived by daughters Linda Grim- sey of Tacoma, Viki (Lar- ry) Winner of Olympia and Barbara Hubbard of Shelton; nine grandchil- dren; 15 great-grandchil- dren; and 18 great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband John Hubbard, brother Miles Coffman Jr. and com- panion Charles Adams. A memorial will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 4 at the Shelton Presbyterian Church in Shelton with a reception to follow. Memorial donations can be made to Kitten Rescue or Adopt-A-Pet in Shelton. Celia Shawver Celia Marie (Moyer) Shawver, 84, died Nov. 14, 2014, at the Shelton Health and Rehabilita- tion Center. She was born Sept. 19, 1930, to Hazel Mur- rel Potter in Park Rap- ids, Minnesota. In 1971, Celia mar- ried Homer Shawver Jr. in Honolulu. Celia worked in health care in West Virginia and as an LPN at Mason General Hos- pital. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, crocheting and watching old movies. She loved animals. Celia is survived by son Kelly Masteller of Shelton, daughter Bar- bara Pearson of Shelton, sisters Marian Hughes of Tacoma and Veda House of Missouri and brother Gary (Barb) Moyer of Aberdeen. She was preceded in death by parents Hazel and Dewey Moyer, son Robert Masteller, sister Verla Larsen and broth- er Melvin Moyer. Celia will be inurned in Marietta, Ohio. Kenneth served in the Army from 1944 to 1948; he retired as a corporal. He married Iris C. Roy on June 8, 1952, in Pendleton, Oregon. Kenneth earned his bachelor's degree from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, and his master's degree in group work adminis- tration from George Wil- liams College of Aurora University in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. He worked as an ex- ecutive director for the Northwest YMCA in Seattle, the Armed Ser- vices YMCA in Seattle, the Kelso YMCA and the Aberdeen YMCA. He also worked as a mental- health professional for Evergreen Counseling Center in Aberdeen until his retirement. Kenneth was a mem- ber of the Clan Little Society, Lions Club In- ternational and Rotary International. He was a volunteer builder of the ship the Lady Washing- ton in Aberdeen. He enjoyed tennis, sailing and bridge, achieving the rank of gold life master. Kenneth is survived by wife Iris; brother Frank Little of Se- attle; sons Don (Diane) Little of Aberdeen and Brian (Julie) Little of Aberdeen; grandchildren Becky (Mike) Rudd, Darcie (Andy) Ding- man of Spokane, Dana (Mike) York of Olympia and Drew (Sarah) Little of Aberdeen; and great- grandchildren Joey Ding- man, Emily Rudd, Tyler Rudd and Kaitlyn York. He was preceded in death by daughter Kathy Howard of Spokane, great-grandson Porter Rudd and brother Bob Little of California. A service will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Ab- erdeen Elks Lodge, 1712 S. Boone St., Aberdeen. Elden Reed Elden L. Reed, 80, died Nov. 14, 2014, at Fir Lane Health & Re- habilitation in Shelton. He was born Sept. 8, 1934, to Harold D. and Elaine L. (Ross) Reed in Cando, North Dakota. Elden enlisted in the Air Force in 1956 and was an Airman 3rd Class. He married Marion Sundlie on June 15, 1957, in Kent. Elden worked for the Boeing Co. from 1958 to 1969 and then for the Mason County Depart- ment of Public Works from 1969 to 1997. He enjoyed ballroom and square dancing, playing cards and board games, and traveling in his RV. He was a member of the Salty Sa-Shayers Square Dance Club and the Mount Rainier Rov- ers RV Club. Elden is survived by wife Marion Reed of Shelton; son Gordon (Deb- bie) Reed of Eagle River, Alaska; daughter Kristine (Paul) Johnson of Seattle; sisters Cheryl Dial of East Wenatchee and Lois (Ralph) Clark of Malaga; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
