The support group is affiliated with the American Diabetes Association and the Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics sponsors it. For more information, call Sue Bar- wick at 275-8614 and ask for the Dia- betes Wellness Center. Hospital to offer class on first aid, CPR, AED Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics is offering a class on first aid, CPR and automated external deft- brillator (AED) from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Jan. 15 at the hospital's learn-: ing center next to the Shelten McDon- ald's on Olympic Highway North. The cost is $35 and includes the books and materials. A Spanish-speaking interpreter will be available by request. The deadline to register is Jan. 2. Call the learning center at 427-3609. Free Medicare, insurance advice at senior center Volunteers from the Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors will offer free advice on Medicare and other health insurance programs at its New to Medicare class from 11 a.m. to noon the fourth Thursday of each month at the Mason County Senior Services Center at the Pavilion at Sentry Park, 190 W. Sentry Drive, Shelton. Individual appointments from noon to 2 p.m. can also be made by calling 586-6181, ext. 134, or 426- 7374. Bake sale scheduled to aid Parkinson's disease association Alpine Way Continuing Care Com- munity in Shelton has scheduled a bake sale to benefit the American Par- kinson Disease Association. The Pastries & Pies for Parkinson's bake sale is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at 900 W. Alpine Way in Shelton. Educational materials will be avail- able. Two-day class set on managing your diabetes Employees of Mason General Hos- pital & Family of Clinics will present a two-day course on managing life with diabetes from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 17 and 18 in the Pershing and Ellinor meeting rooms at the hos- pital at 901 Mountain View Drive in Shelton.
