PERHAPS THE HIGHLIGHT of
this year's tournament from the
hosts' standpoint, added Snyder,
was their fourth-place finish in
the 13-and-under girls' division.
"Some of those girls," said
the director, "have been in the

they were 8 years old - and
they'd never won a game before.

said, "and one of the girls on our

"She was just excited. It was
really good..."
TOM GROVER, Snyder's
long-time counterpart for the
Skokomish Tribe, reported great
success in last week's tourna-
ment as well.
His kids won the 8-and-under,
15-and-under boys' and 16-and-
under coed divisions outright
and copped notable placements
elsewhere as well.
"Tom's planning to have their
youth tournament sometime in
January," added Snyder. "And
we're gonna go there."
Rounding out the Squaxins'
guest list last week were teams
from the Quileute (LaPush), Ta-
holah, Muckleshoot, Chehalis,
Little Boston and Suquamish
tribes and from Griffin Junior
High School.

director. "They all sponsor this
