Ricky Steven Aitken Ricky Steven Aitken, 58, died Sunday, Jan. 1, at Ma- son General Hospital. He was a resident of Shelton for 18 years. He was born Sept. 19, 1953 to Myrna (Wnitaker) Aitken and Rolly Aitken. He attended Shelton High School. He mar- ried Shir- ley Padgett Aitken in Shelton in 1977. The marriage ended in divorce. He Ricky worked Aitken as a log- ger and trucker. He enjoyed family, friends and living life to the fullest, boating and fishing, his fam- ily shared. He is survived by his fa- ther Rolly Aiken of Shelton; son Matthew Aitken (Erin) of Tenino; brother Ken Ait- ken (Mary) of Rochester; sis- ter Debi Wells of Seattle; son Douglas French of Shelton; daughter Kristina French Phillips of Clarksville, Tenn.; grandchildren Erin Peppers- Aitken of Shelton, Mason Aitken ofTenino, Brent Bradley of Tenino and Nico- las Bradley of Tenino. His mother Myrna Aitken preceded him in death. Services will be deter- mined at a later date. McComb Funeral Home of Shelton is handling the ar- rangements. George Beckett George Beckett, 84, died Thursday, Dec. 29 peacefully at the Shelton Health and Rehabilitations Center in Shelton. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Beckett; daughter Connie George Moffat Beckett (Will) of Shelton; sons Kevin Beckett (Elaine) of Sedro- Wooley and Randal Beckett (Sheirel) of Mr. Vernon; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 at Bethel Assembly's of God, 1521 Monroe St., Shelton. Paul Lincoln Board Paul Lincoln Board, 75, died on Saturday, Dec. 31, peacefully at St. Peter's Hos- pital in Olympia. He was a 22 year resident of Union. He was born to Hazel (Johns) and Norman Board in The Dalles, Ore. He was the youngest of four. • He lived in Walls Walls for many Paul years rais- Board ing his sons, Marc and Paul. He mar- ried Judy (Plaquet) in Spo- kane in October 1967. They were married 44 years. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He worked for Jack Logan and Biff Brotherton, his only two employers. His career lasted 42 years in the au- tomotive business in Walla Walla and Seattle. After he retired his fam- ily said a great adventure for him was traveling, going south for the winter and be- ing the neighborhood handy- man. He accomplished many home projects. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, camp- ing, hiking and traveling. His family shared that he especially enjoyed being a grandfather to his grand- daughters McCall and Con- ner Board. Conner shared his birthday. He is survived by his wife, Judy of Union; sister Rose- mary Lloyd (Bill) of Walls Walls; sons Marc Board (Daniele) of Reno, Nev. and Paul Board of Edmonds; granddaughters McCall and Conner Board and numerous nieces, nephews and other parents, a brother and sister preceded him in death. A memorial celebration will be held in Walls Walls in the spring of 2012. Memo- rial contributions may be made to New Community Church of Union or the char- ity of your choice. Kenneth M. Brownfield, Kenneth M. Brownfield, 74, died Tuesday, Dec, 20. He was a lifelong resident of Mason County. He was born Nov. 6, 1937, to Martin and Pearl (Satter- thwaite) Brownfield. He attended Shelton schools. He worked in the timber industry his entire life; from plant- ing trees, working in the rig- ging, mill work to truck driv- Kenneth ing. Brownfield His fam- ily shared that at a young age he found a love of music. He learned to play the pedal steel guitar, play- ing in country western bands throughout western Wash- ington. He enjoyed motor- cycles, owned many and rode with his friends. His children Debra, Jon, Kim, Shari and Morris; nine grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; sister Carol Hagman; brothers Don and Gary Brownfield and numer- ous nieces and nephews sur- vive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris, sister Barbara Lee (Betty) Brownfield, brother Michael L. Brownfield. A memorial service will be held at i p.m. on Jan. 12 at the Squaxin Island Gym at the tribal center. Jimmie Morris Compton Jimmie Morris Compton, 54, died Thursday, Dec. 22 in Mason County. He was a lifelong area resi- dent. He was born Jan. 20, 1958, in Aberdeen, to James William Jimmie and Eula- lia Nadine Compton (Middle- Aberdeen and is a graduate of Weatherwax High School's class of 1974. He married Betty Jean Jones in 1980 in Reno, Nev. He worked as a timber fall- er. He worked for a time for Simpson Timber Company and later for Don Walker Logging before on-the-job injury let him a paraplegic in 2003. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time in the woods and spending See Obits on page B-6 Carolyn Sue "Carol" Lindberg of Bremerton Carol S. Lindberg of Belfair, Washington passed away December 22, 2011 in the arms of her loving husband Jerry Lindberg. Carol, one of eight siblings, was born on November 6, 1941 to Raymond & Mary Kay O'Brien in St. Paul, Kansas. The family moved to Casper, Wyoming where Carol graduated from St. Anthony's Catholic School as class Valedictorian then Natrona High School in Casper, Wyoming. Carol moved to Washington in 1964 where she met her future husband Jerry Lindberg. Their first home was in Fauntleroy, Seattle and soon after they built a home in Tahuya on Haven Lake. They had two daughters, Melissa K. Stites and Kerry M. Lindberg. Carol was a homemaker until 1982; she was then employed by Spot Realty as an Office Manager. Soon after, she discovered her professional calling in the mortgage industry. She became well known as a leading Loan Officer in Kitsap County and 203k Specialist. Although Carol was an amazing business woman, her true passion was her family and two dogs. Many fun filled days spent boating, camping and mowing the lawn of the property fulfilled her life. Carols life revolved around her grandchildren, she never missed out on a single sporting event, school activity, or spelling bee. With a laugh and smile that could light up a room, Carols outgoing personality and loving heart touched the lives of many who knew her. Carol is survived by Jerry, her husband of 45 years. Daughters, Melissa and Kerry, and her 5 grandchildren, Jeremie, Lauren, Karlie, Cameron and Alyson, all of Belfair. Carol is also survived by her 7 siblings; Frances (Sis) of Oregon, Marty of Sequim, Maureen of California, Kathleen of Texas, Terry of Wyoming, Kelly of Colorado, and her youngest brother Ray also of Wyoming. A memorial service for Carol will be held at Lewis Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 14th at 2:00pm.
