VETERAN COACH Curt Sny-
der, who's led the Climbers to top-
eight finishes at state each of the
past three seasons to rank among
the legitimate powers in Wash-
ington prepdom, agreed that his
league leaders are remarkable
for their lane-side demeanor. But
that's not all.
"They're not only good bowlers
but good girls too," he said.
Leading the way for the Climb-
ers in Thursday's romp over River
Ridge were sophomores Alisha
Wade (181 and 160 games) and
Chelsey Stevens (187 and 148).
Also registering series of 300 or
more pins were classmates Dan-
ielle Baye, Calista "CJ" Phipps
and Tracy Yuan.
THE NEXT NIGHT the Climb-
ers improved to 10-0 by way of a
16-2 victory over host Tumwater.
Phipps went honkers en route
to a match-high 409 series on
games of 200 and 209, Ms. Wade
had a 212 game and came in at
351, classmate Brittney Stoutnar
