MITIGATED DETERMINATION OF
NONSIGNIFICANCE
SHELTON FIRE DEPARTMENT PUBLIC
SAFETY BUILDING
Pursuant to RCW 43.21C.080, notice of
action is hereby given that the City of Shel-
ton has issued a Mitigated Determination
of Nonsignificanca (MDNS) under the State
Environmental Policy Act Rules (Chapter
197-11-WAC) for the following project: Loca-
tion: 122 West Franklin Street, Located on
the Northeast corner of the intersection of
Franklin Street and Second Street. Descrip-
tion: Renovation of the original 1,894 square
foot Public Safety Building, demolition of all
remaining on-site structures and pavement,
and construction of a new 12,572 square
foot two-story structure which would contain
five fire apparatus bays, 19 beds and asso-
ciated living space for resident firefighters,
and various administrative offices. The proj-
ect also includes the proposed reorientation
Remembrance of Gains
Hood Canal Community Church will have a "Time
of Remembrance" for Wes and Faith Gain after the
morning service on Sunday, January 14. He and his
wife Faith moved to Hoodsport on July 19, 1959 so the
Reverend Gain could be pastor of the church. He con-
tinued his ministry for more than 30 years and contin-
ued serving the church in various capacities after his
retirement. The Reverend Gain passed away on De-
cember 10. People who attend the remembrance will
be invited to share their friendship, loyalty and love
during that time. Afterwards there will be a gathering
in the Fellowship Hall for refreshments and a time to
share with one another and the family.
