The Mason County
Commission Monday voted to
change the name of the l)elmore
Road to the Sand Hill Road and
to name a short road which leads
into the Mission (?reek Youth
('amp as the l)elmore Road.
The commission action came
after a letter from the North
Mason Historical Society asking
for the name change.
The historical society told the
commission that a part of the
road which was developed to the
Mission Creek Youth Camp had
been known locally as the Sand
Hill Road for many years.
The road was named the
Delmore Road, for Lawrence
Delmore, supervisor of adult
corrections for the State
Department of Institutions, at the
suggestion of former County
Commissioner Itarry Elmlund.
The youth camp had assisted
in the development of the road.

Monday came after a
continuation of hearing from the
previous week on the name
change.
The commission set a hearing
on naming the short road into the
youth camp the Delmore Road

on Hood Canal.

hospital about 4:30 p.m. Jan. 7
by Hughes Ambulance Service.-

Villines was a passenger in a
boat operated by Walter Wise,

Villines was in the cabin of
the boat when it turned over.
