Preps: Shelton boys Second, girls fourth at tournament

Carter won the 500-yard freestyle in
6:09.43 and Holzgrove won the 100—
yard backstroke in 1:06.42.
Shelton’s ZOO-yard medley relay
team of Lovingfoss, Benedict, Wyatt
Anthis and Holzgrove won in 1:54.27.
The ZOO-yard freestyle relay team of
Karr, Carter, Morson "and Wyatt An-
this won in 1:46.89.
The 400—yard freestyle relay team
of Benedict, Morson, Karr and Holz-
grove won in 3:55.92.
Shelton was back in the pool at
home Tuesday against Central Kitsap
and hosts North Thurston today in a
nonleague meet.
1 Boys basketball
The Shelton boys basketball team'
earned a win against Rochester but
lost to Tumwater in Evergreen Confer-L
ence games last week.
Shelton edged the Warriors 61-60
at home Jan. 11 on Terry Gregg Court
behind 22 point from Weetly Cordova.
Mason Goos added 16 for the Shelton.
The Highclimbers traveled to Turn:
water on Jan. 13 and fell 65-37.
The Highclimbers (6—6, 3-4 league)
faced W.F. West in Chehalis on Tues-
day and hosts Black Hills today in an
EvCo contest.
Girls basketball .
Shelton lost to North Mason and
Tumwater last week but earned a
close victory against Rochester.
The Highclimbers won 37-36 on
the road against Rochester on Jan.
10. Shelton lost 66-33 to Tumwater on
Jan. 12. ,
Shelton (6-8, 2-5 league) hosted
W.F. West on Wednesday. The High—
climbers travel to Black Hills on Fri-
day and host Kingston on Saturday for
a nonleague game. '
Wrestling
Shelton won an Evergreen League
dual meet with Tumwater before fin-
ishing second at the King/Queen of the
Hills tournament.
The Highclimbers won at Tumwater
in a‘E'VCo dual 44-22 on Jan. 11.
Shelton traveled back to Tumwater
for the King/Queen of the Hill tourna-
ment at Black Hills High School. The
boys finished second and the girls fin:
,ished fourth.
In boys results, Shelton’s Richard
Lingle at 113 pounds, Ty Fleshman
at 126 pounds and Phenix'Oleachea
at 145 pounds all won their respec-
tive tournaments. Aiden Dodge at
113 pounds, Drew Schirman at 132
pounds, Caleb Brennan at 145 pounds,
Mario Boxley at 182 pounds and Ian
Wilsbach at 220 pounds each finished
second in their respective tourna—
ments'Cole Borden at 126 pounds,
Logan Peach at 138 pounds and Dan-
iel Tausa at 285 pounds each placed
third.
In girls results, Crystal Nielsen at
140 pounds and Elibeth Cervantes at' I
145 pounds each finished second. Shel- ,
ton’s Joy Gattinger‘ at 155 pounds and
Aurora Marcy at 190 pounds finished
fourth. .
Shelton hosted senior night on
Tuesday against Rochester.
