Mary Catherine Rogers Mary Catherine Rogers went to be with our Lord on January 6, 2023. Mary was born to George and Frances Welsh on June 23, 1919, in Omaha, Nebraska. She grew up in Omaha, graduated from ' Benson High School, and raised her family there. During her early years, she was a professional dancer supporting her family during the depression and war years. Mary also lived in Libby, Montana after retirement and then spent the last 30 years in Shelton. Mary was always active in her community, as a Den Mother, PTA member, garden club member, school cafeteria worker, and servant at both First‘Baptist Church in Omaha and later at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church‘in Shelton. Cooking and gardening were her passions. She and her husband Mel enjoyed camping and adventures with the, family throughout their lives. ~ ' Mary waspreceded in death by her brothers, Frank “Hank”, George, Jr., “Junie” and Thomas “Tut”, and her husband Melburn. She is survived by her sons George (Patricia) and Bob (Lorilyn), grandsons Simon, Jim, Steve, Mike and six great-grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held at Mt. Olive Luthera Church, Shelton at 1:00 p.m. on February 11, 2023. ‘ Doris M. Bailey, 94, a resident of Lacey, passed away January 9, 2023, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. Arrangements are by McComb & Wagner Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Connie C. Ritter, 86, a resident of Winlock, WA passed away January 10, 2023, at Caregivers Four Mom Dad, in Winlock. Arrangements are by McComb Wagner Family Funeral Home and Crematory. John L. Patrick, 75, a resident of Shelton, passed away January 11, 2023, at Shelton Health & Rehab. Barsay, 71, a resident of Shelton, passed away January14, 2023, at home; Arrangements are by McComb & Wagner Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Irene M. Carrell, 94, a resident of Shelton, passed away January 14, 2023, at Alpine Way Assisted Living in Shelton. Arrangements are by Forest Funeral Home and Crematory. Roberta M. Hammer, 61, a resident of Shelton, passed away January 15, 2023, at home. Arrangements are by McComb Wagner Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Judith Boyer, 70, a resident of Poulsbo, passed away January 15, 2023, at St. Michael's Medical Center in Silverdale, WA. Arrangements are by McComb 8: Wagner Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Thursday, Jan. 19,2023: Shelton-Mason County Journal Page 33 Obituaries Floyd Eugene'Wiseman Floyd Eugene Wiseman passed away ' p at his beloved Lost Lake home on . January 6, 2023. He was born in Hill City, Kansas on November 12, 1928, to Paul and Lottie Wiseman. ‘ Floyd’s family moved to, Washington ' in the early 1940’s. First to the Olympia area and then settled in Anacortes in- 1944. Floyd graduated from Anacortes High School in 1947 .' He went on to Washington State College. Floyd met his wife, Dorothy Keith, while attending Anacortes High School. They married May 21, 1949. Floyd and Dot went on to have five children, all girls. V ‘ ‘ Throughout Floyd’s working life of running plywood mills the family moved many times to several places in Washington and Oregon. Floyd’s career also took the family to Honduras, Central America, Colombia and Brazil, South America. In 1966 the family bought a small ~- cabin on Lost Lake. Many wonderful weekends and summers were spent at the cabin with family and friends. While not a great swimmer, with the assistance of strategically placed life belts, Floyd was a terrific floaterlln 1979 the cabin was torn doWn. ‘ Floyd and Dot designed and built their permanent residence that had enough room for all of their daughters and their families. TheyWent on to design and build two more homes at Lost Lake for two of their daughters. , « Floyd had a love of travel, wpodworking, music, flying and talking to people (especially strangers). He was an accomplished musician that sang, played harmonica, accordion and organ. He earned his private pilot license and flew whenever he could.'At the age of 86, Floyd parachuted for the first time. His second jump was shortly before his 91st birthday. - ' . Floyd is known as Poppy to his family and loved ones. He, is survived by his wife of 74 years, Dot Wiseman, his five daughters, Wendy Baier and Kerry (Sid) Matsumoto of Kona, Hawaii, Kim McElliott and Paige (Loren) Hansen of Shelton and Heidi Hansen of Lacey.‘ Poppy had seven grandchildren: Peter Questi, Jason Baier, Kendall McElliott,,Caitlin (Mani Augustine) Hansen, Katie (Nathan) Bosseler, Tyler Hansen and Morgan Hansen and three great-grandchildren. ' l ‘ There is no memorial service planned at this time.
