Corrections: The following two obituar- ies were run last week with photos in the wrong places. Lee Arthur Neate Lee Arthur Neate, 45, died Monday, January 3, 2011 in Rockport. He was a resident of Rockport for six years. He was born October 3, 1965 to Mable and Russell Neate in Puyallup. He attended Shelton High School. He worked in security for  the Little Creek Ca- sino, He en- joyed fish- !ng, hik- rag, camp- ing, chess, reading, Lee Arthur baking and Neate traveling. He is survived by his son Jacob Russell Neate of Rockport; brothers Rea Howry of Ray- mond and Russell Howry of Rockport; sister Renata Neate Hext of Oliver B.C. and several nieces and neph- ews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Tami Neate Gatewood and brother Nathan Anderson. A memorial service and reception were held at 1 p.m. on January 15 at the Sedro- Woolley Community Center. Lee Irving Walster Lee Irving Walster, 85, died January 8, 2011 at his home in Shelton. He was born November 1, 1925 to Edith and Charles Lloyd Walster in Maltby. He attended Snohomish High School. He was in the Unit- ed States Navy on the U.S.S. Noble his rank was Quarter- master 3C. Lee Irving He was Walster a w a r d e d the follow- ing medals for his heroism: Asiatic Pacific Area Cam- paign medal, American Area Campaign medal and the World War II Victory medal. He married Dorothy Lange on June 29, 1963. They were married for near- ly 48 years. He retired after 80 years for the United States Gov- ernment working as a Re- gional Property Administra- tor for the CSA. He was a member of the Fraternal order of the Ea- gles, the Moose Lodge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed the northwest outdoors. He was an avid camper, hunter and fisher- man. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and scored a hole-in- one on August 2, 1975. He is survived by his spouse Dorothy; children Deborah, Lee Allen, Roxane, Earl and Laura; nine grand- children and 11 great-grand- children; siblings Harry and his wife Clarisse, Mary Rupert, Ralph and his wife Fran, Raymond and his wife Pat, Stun and his wife Phyl- lis. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ber- nard Walster and his son Charles Lloyd Walster. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on January 16, at the community center in Grapeview. The burial will be at Ta- homa National Cemetery. 00)00OflE S T Robert L. Dehning Robert L. Dehning, 76, died January 14, 2011 at Mason General Hospital after emergency surgery to correct an intestinal condition. He lived in the Skokomish Valley for 33 years. He was born August ,4, 1937 in Lewiston, Idaho to John H. Dehning and Mar- garet (Heese) Dehning. He graduated from Lew- iston High School in 1955. He married his high school sweetheart, Glenda McLaughlin in 1958 in Lew- iston and then attended and graduated from the Univer- sity of Idaho in 1964 with a BA in Education with a ma- jor in Biology. After teaching for three years in Idaho, he; was awarded a National Science Foundation grant for a year of graduate study. He at- tended Michigan State Uni- versity and earned a Mas- ters Degree. He was a high school principal in Troy, Idaho and later a principal in Kettle Falls, Wash. He be- came the superin- tendent of Hood Ca- nal School in Mason County in 1977 and after 11 Robert L. years he became Dehning the assis- tant Su- perintendent of Educational Service Distri,ct 13 in Olym- pia. He retired in 1992. He was a sports fan and coached youth ball most of the years he worked, but also played baseball him- self while in high school, as a Vandal at the University of Idaho arid on a semi-pro team for a f'ew years. He enjoyed backpack- ing in the Olympics, skiing, deer and elk hunting, trav- eling and golfing. He enj, oyed reading. He was a dedicated walker hav- ing completed at least one Volkssport event of 10 km in all fifty states. He, hi s family and friends built a mountain cabin in Chelan, which has been enjoyed by many over the last twenty years his family shared. He was a charter member of the Hoodsport Kiwanis Club, a life long member of Washington State School Administrators and a mem- ber of the Skokomish Com- mum ty Church. He is survived by his wife of 5,2 years, Glenda; son Brent Dehning (Brenda); daughter Gwen Whitten (Rob); grandchildren Jake and Katie Whitten, Haylee, Keisie and Treyton Dehning and his brother Herb Dehning (Arlyne). A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on January 20 at the Skokomish Com- munity Church. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. on January 20 a Shelton Memorial Park. Jerald "Jerry" Geertsen Jerald "Jerry" Geertsen, 77, died January 6, 2011. He was a resident of Mason Lake. He was born June 7, 1933 in Seattle, Washing- ton. He grew up in Enumclaw until he moved to Seattle to Jerald attend col- "Jerry" lege at the Geertsen University of Wash- ington. He graduated from the University in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. When living in Seattle; he met and married Phyl- lis White in 1959. After 22 years of marriage, they divorced and remained friends. Jerry worked his entire career, over 40 years, as a pharmacist at Magnolia Pharmacy. He retired in 1998 and moved to Mason Lake. He enjoyed the beautiful setting of the lake and his time there. He attended the North Mason Bible Church in Bel- fair, Washington. He is survived by his three children: Susan Lane and Jill Musick of Mount- lake Terrace and Michael Geertsen of Camano Island; seven grandchildren David, Christopher, and Stepha- nie Musick, Derek and Bry- an Lane, Lauren and Joy Geertsen. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011 at North Ma- son Bible Church located at 82 East Campus Drive in Belfair, WA. Dennis L. Heath Dennis L. Heath, 72, died January 9, 2011 at Provi- dence St. Peter Hospital. He was born January 19, 1938 in Yardley, Birming- ham, England to Leonard and Florence (Tate) Heath. He served Her Majesty, Queen Eliza- beth, in the Queens House- hold Calvary f r o m 1956 to Dennis L 1959. He moved Heath with his first wife, Maureen, and children, Ste- phen and Claire to Sydney, Australia in 1968. He met Donna in 1973 and they married in 1978. He adopted Donna's daugh- ter, Susie, in 1979. They moved to the United States in November 1979. He was a general contrac- tor in commercial construc- tion and then a restaurant manager for many years. After officially retiring, he was a bus driver for Para- transit in Kitsap County and then for Mason County Transit for about five years. He and his wife attended New Horizons Church of God in She'lton. He was a volunteer for the Shelton Food Bank. He is survived by his wife, Donna; daughters Su- san Reed (Harry) of Olalla; Claire Heath of Western Australia; son, Stephen Heath (Siobhan) of Western Australia; grandchildren Stephen and Conner Reed of Olalla; Matthew, Amy and Michael Heath of Western Australia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Florence Heath; sister Joyce and her family; grandson Brandon Reed. A funeral and celebration of his life was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 14 in the chapel at Haven of Rest Fu- neral Home at Gig Harbor. Glory June Johns Glory June Johns, 54, died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at home in Shel- ton. She was a resident for 50 years. She was born May 16, 1956 to Floyd and Sheila (Adams) Howard in Shelton. She married Wilson Charles Johns on June 29, 1994 in Squaxin. She was born and raised in Shelton. She was a home- Glory June maker and Johns mother of five chil- dren. Her hobbies included beading, woodworking, drawing and art. Her family shared that she was a flower gardener, an excellent cook, enjoyed reading, Disney movies, and shopping. She liked to travel and be anywhere on or near the water, especially a trip out to the Squaxin Island where she enjoyed nature and its beauty. She enjoyed her family, children and her grandchil- dren and will be greatly missed by many that knew her. She is survived by her husband Wilson Johns of Shelton; daughters Efleen Sutton of Ellensburg, Ali- cia Robinett of Shelton, Mo- riah Brown of Shelton and Angie Kiser of Mesa, Ariz.; son James Kiser of Shelton; sisters Sheley Dragoo of Shelton and Sheryl Howard of Shelton; brother Terry Chaney of San Francisco, Calif. and Tim Chaney of Shelton; 21 grandchildren and one great granddaugh- ter. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Eileen Howard. Kerry Peterson Kerry Peterson, 51, died January 15, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. She was a resident of Shelton for 20 years. She was born June 5, 1959 to Doris and Eugene Peterson. She grew up in both Cali- fornia and Washing- ton along with her sisters and brother. She Kerry graduated Peterson from Ta- homa High School in 1977. Peterson worked for Ma- son County Utilities and Waste. Violet Ruth Sibley Violet Ruth Sibley, 92, died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Mason General Hos- pital. She was a resident of Union for 30 years. She was born Sep- tember 13, 1918 to Isaac and Ida (Cooke) Dudley in Antelope, Violet Ruth Ore. Sibley S he gradu- ated from Grass Grange High School, Grass Grange, Mont. in 1936. She married William H. Sibley July 11, 1951 in Se- attle. She was a "ranch wife" for 10 years before moving to Washington in 1947. In 1950, she went to work for the Seattle Post Office as a clerk, retiring as a chief personnel officer in 1973. She was a member of the Alderbrook Ladies Golf Club. She enjoyed travel- ing, hunting, charter boat fishing, camping and hiking with her husband. Her hobbies included golfing, painting (in all me- diums), flowers, gardening, and playing cards. She was also a good cook and an avid reader. Her family shared that she had a wonderful sense of humor, was very caring and friendly to ev- eryone she came in contact with. She is survived by her husband William Sibley of Union; daughter Sharon Thompson of Port Orchard; granddaughters Michelle Trulson (Jeff) of Seattle, Marcie Fournier (Jim Mc- Gurk) Harstine Is., Melissa Yohey (Brad) of Port Or- chard, Debbie Jones (Alan Sawtelle) of Seattle, Rona Galantiof Bellingham, Gina Sibley of Yelm and Arlee Lapraire of Seattle; brother David Dudley of Richland; nine great grandchildren and one great- great-grand- child; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Turner Elbert W. Turner, 93, died January 2, 2011 of nat- ural causes in Orlando, Fla. He was a resident of Belfair for 20 years. He was born July 26, 1917 in Shelbyville, Mo. to Dakota (Boetcher) and Homer Turner. He graduated from Shel- by High School in 1935. He trained in WWII to be a flight engineer on the B-29 bomber. He served in the Army Air Corps for October 1942 to December 1945 and was discharged at the rank of Second Lieutenant. He married Olive M. Russell on July 3, 1958 at the First United Methodist Church in Seattle. He was an amateur wine maker and photographer. He enjoyed traveling by mo- tor home in the U.S. and Canada. He traveled to Ire- land, which was his wife's original home. He was ac- tive in the American Legion and Holiday Ramblers. He is survived by his daughter Marjorie M. Haley (Joel) of Orlando, Fla.; son David W. Turner of Seat- tle; granddaughter Jessica M. Haley of Orlando, Fla.; grandsons Zachary J. Haley and Gabriel D. Haley of Or- lando, Fla.; cousins Marge Cooley and Ed Cooley (Peg) of Glendale, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents and broth- ers Charles F. and Standley Turner.
