Jerri Lindley reports that students in grades 1-5 at
Hood Canal School celebrate reading every month.
Fourth-graders pictured here root for the Seattle Sea-
hawks football team at a "12th Man Party" complete
with hot dogs, chips and juice. They created posters
so they could show their support a few weekends ago
when the Seahawks played the Chicago Bears. Fifth-
graders chose to watch the movie Invincible and eat
some of their favorite foods. Third-graders watched
the movie Cars and raced toy cars. First- and second-
graders are pictured here at a "Pirate Party" at which
they made eye patches and searched for "gold." Stu-
dents earn these parties by reading at home for 240
minutes or more.
