Andrew Walter
was born in a Portland,
Oregon, hospital on January 19 to
Kelly and Judy Masteller of
Vancouver, Washington. The
five-pound fifteen-ounce boy
joins two brothers in the family
home, five-year-old Shay and
Christopher who is
two-and-a-halL Grandparents are
John and Mable Long and Celia
and Pete Shawver, all of Shelton.
Ronald Johnston
Ronald Johnston, 75, died
January 21 at his son's home in
Dana Point, California.
He was born October 10,
1899, in Matlock to John (Jack)
Henry Johnston and Maude Butts
Johnston.
Mr. Johnston was employed
by Standard Oil Company of
California for 47 years and spent
ten of those years in Hoodsport.
He was a World War I veteran
and was a member of the Port
Angeles Naval Elks Lodge.
Surviving Mr. Johnston are a
daughter, Mrs. Gerald Hester of
Vancouver, Washington; a son,
Dale Johnston of Dana Point; and
five grandchildren. He has many
cousins in the Shelton area.

Memorial services will be held
Friday in the First Methodist
Church in Port Angeles at 1 p.m.
William R. Spooner
William R. Spooner of
Grapeview died in a Bremerton
hospital Friday at the age of 79
years.
Born in Winnepeg, Manitoba,
Mr. Spooner came to this country
and became a naturalized citizen.
For many years he worked at the
Bremerton Naval Shipyard as an
electrician.
He was a charter member and
past master of the Fair Harbor
Grange of Grapeview and a
member of the Bremerton Power
Squadron. He was a charter
member of the Grapeview Fire
Department, serving as a
volunteer fireman. He was a

Mr. Spooner was the husband
of Emilie Spooner of Grapeview;'
the father of Mrs. Linda
Humphrey of Ithaca, New York
and Robert W. Spooner of
Calgary, Alberta; the brother of
Mrs. Ella Campbell of Grapeview
and Mrs. Elsie Jermy of Gig
Harbor. He is survived by three
grandchildren and by cousins who
live in the United States and
Canada.
Memorial services will be held
at 2 p.m. Sunday in Grapeview
Firehall.
