of carvings
displayed
A collection of wild animal
carvings and African native figures
is now on display in the children's
area of the Shelton Public
Library.
The wood carvings were
brought to Shelton by William
Kamin who made a trip last

where he climbed Mt.
Kilimanjaro.
More international attention
is being focused on wildlife as the
list of endangered species grows.
Three familiar African animals
now on that list are the Mountain
Gorilla, the White Rhinocerous
and the Cheetah.
The library has numerous
books available on wild animals
and animal conservation. The
carvings will remain on display
until February 15.

1PassingFancies i
When my book of Passing
Fancies was first published copies
were placed on consignment in a
versatile little establishment in an
outlying area.
The business was burglarized
that very night. I heard the news
not only with compassion for the
proprietor, but with as well a
secret guilty pride. Along with
some sixty-odd pounds of
assorted cheeses, the thieves had
also stolen a copy of my book?
On the following day,
however, it was discovered that
within one hundred feet of the
shop the miscreants had
jettisoned the limburger.
, And the Passing Fancies.
I eat my words
with trepidation,
fearing sudden
regurgitation.
