Moose plan
dining event
Clients of Exceptional Forest-
ers, Incorporated, along with spe-
cial-needs children, will eat tbr free
this week. Members of' the Shelton
Moose will serve them all-you-can-
eat burgers, fries and soft-drinks
on Monday, February 5. The din-
ner will last from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at
the Moose Lodge, located at 741
SE Craig Road in Shelton.
AARP sets potluck meeting
Members ot" AARP, an organization tbrmerly known as the
American Association of Retired Persons, will meet tbr their regu-
lar monthly meeting and potluck this week. The meeting will begin
at noon on Monday, February 5, in the United Methodist Church of
Shelton facilities at 1900 King Street. A representative ot" Mason
Transit will speak at the meeting about dial-a-ride and other se-
nior issues. The host committee for this event will be Dot Willour,
Millie ltoman and Marge Busack.
Zook will addressKiwanis
Joan Zook, superintendent of Shelton School District, will pres-
ent her State of the Schools report to Shelton Kiwanis. The club
will lneet at noon on Tuesday, February 6, at Xinh's Clam and
()yster liouse, 221 West Railroad Avenue in downtown Shelton.
Veterans, auxiliary to meet
Members of" the Mason County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post
169,1 and the Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb-
ruary 2, in Memorial Hall at the corner of Second and Franklin
streets in downtown 8helton. The auxiliary will make plans tbr
the past commanders and past presidents dinner, which will take
place on Friday, February 16. The auxiliary will host a card party
at 1 p.m. All funds will support the cancer aid and research pro-
gram. The post and auxiliary also meet tbr bingo each Saturday,
with "early bird 'e bingo beginning at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited
to attend the c'hrd party and bingo.
Class of 1949 slates lunch
Memb(ws of the Irene S. Reed High School Class of 1949 will
meet, for hmch at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, at the Royal
Shanghm Restaurant, 2517 Olympic Highway North in ,. helton.
Genealogists plan meeting
Mcnlbors of the Mason County Genealogical Society will meet
tonight, Thursday, February 1, at the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latwr-day Saints, 1200 Connection Street in Shelton. The meet-
ing will t)egin at 7 p.m. and feature information available in the
Family History Center at the church. Those attending will become
more familiar with this resource. Visitors are welcome.
Equestrienne set meeting
Members of the Equestrienne of Mason County will meet at 7
p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, at Taylor Station Restaurant, lo-
cated just outside of Shelton at 62 SE Lynch Road. Karin Strelioff
of Mason Conservation District will talk about manure, mud and
pasture management and grants. The meeting room will be open
at 6 p.m. for those who would like to have dinner belbre the meet-

IAlliwaup Community Club's monthly potluck will take place at
6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, in the Lilliwaup Community
Clut)house, located on U.S. Highway 101. Bob and Naomi Brum-
mett and Dele and Kathy Gunnerson will host this month's event.
Hood Canal School Superintendent Ron Zier will be the guest
speaker. Everyone is welcome. Those planning to attend are asked
to bring a hot dish, salad or dessert and their own dinnerware.

DECA students at Shelton High School participated in the Area 8 Career

chapter of DECA, an association of marketing students formerly known as
