County, city get
sales tax money
The City of Shelton received
$34,137.38 and Mason County
$38,772.53 from the local sales
tax in the December distribution,
the State Department of
Revenue said this week. The
department of revenue received
$1,110.30 for collection and
distribution of the tax money,
the department said.
Total distributions for the
past year, the department said,
were $225,423 to the City of
Shelton, $208,326.89 to Mason
County, and $6,605.33 to the
state from the Mason County
collections, a total of
$440,355.22.
Mason County, the
department said, received
$3,534.19 from the
November-December distribution
of the local stadium/convention
tax, bringing the total received
by the county to $11,096.38 for
the past year.
