SNYDER Attorney at Law 125Vz N. 5th Street P.O. Box 396 Meeting set to discuss school financial needs By CARMEN YATES Each and every Pioneer parent is urged to attend a meeting at Pioneer School next Monday evening beginning at 8 p.m. Community input is needed to determine what is the best approach to take for next year at Pioneer. The 1977 Legislature set formulas which will directly affect funding. And if you aren't a parent, you, no doubt, are a taxpayer and should attend for firsthand knowledge of the problems that will affect you in that capacity. This meeting deserves "standing room only" attendance. (The last such meeting which concerns everyone, whether as a parent or taxpayer, drew only two members of the community aside from the school personnel and school directors.) Members of the ESD, a state senator and two state representatives have been invited to answer questions. This is your chance to have these politicians answer the major question as to how "full funding" will probably result in less funds than were provided this year. That alone should be worth an hour or so of everyone's time. And, yet another project that deserves far more community support than it is currently receiving is Project 80. Would you believe two retired people without any children in the school are doing the "lion's share" of the work thus far? January 25 the planning commission met with Chairperson Jessie Schroeder and her supporters. The members toured the school building wtih Harold Dalke, architect, in attendance. This is part of the effort to evaluate the feasibility of the seventh and eighth grades returning to Pioneer School and to evaluate the condition of the existing buildings, the kitchen and gym. Dalke will give a report on the total structure of the existing facilities at the next meeting of the Project 80 group on February 8 in the staff room at Pioneer Schoot. This report should give the committee valuable aid in their future decisions. There are various committees that desperately need people to serve on them. The need is most urgent: due to the fact that there are deadlines to be met for the matching state funds. The difficult decisions that must be, and will be, met in the very near future will affect all students and all taxpayers. So if you want a say in those important decisions, please call the Pioneer School at 426-8291 or Chairperson Jessie Schroeder at 426-8322. The next meeting is February 8 at 8 p.m. Recommendations given on how to remove stains If your bathtub is porcelain badly stained tub did a beautiful on cast iron and made before job.
