basketball season
ends next week

The Shelton girls' basketball team.
couldn't come out ahead in its last four
games.
On Wednesday, Jan. 11. the Lady High-
climbers lost at home to Bellarmine 73-35.
Senior wing Allison Hunter led the Lady
Highclimbers with 16 points.
On Friday, Jan. 13, the Lady High-
climbers lost at home to Olympia 48-34.
Sophomore post Cheyenne Overlin led
the team with eight points.
After the team took one week off due to
the snowstorm, they came back and lost
two more games.
On Wednesday, Jan. 25, the Lady High-
climbers lost at home to Gig Harbor 48-30.
"We started out strong," head coach
Aaron Leth said. "We did some things well,
but we didn't shoot well."
He said the ream was 13-for-41 from the
field.
"I know we ran the offense well in the
first period but midway through the second
quarter and beyond, we didn't run an of-
fense." Leth said.
He said that even though the team does
not have a high winning record, they are
currently No. 4 in the Narrows League for
points allowed.
"This shows we're doing something
right." Leth added.

the remainder of the season due to this in-
jury.
"The offense is struggling right now, to
say the least," Leth said.
As of press time. the Lady Highclimb-
ers had not yet played at home against Mr.
Tahoma on Wednesday, Feb. 1.
The team's next game is at 7 p.m. on
Friday, Feb. 3, at Bellarmine High School.
The Lady Highclimbers' final two ge mes
will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. (;, at
South Kitsap High School and at 7 a.m.
on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Olympia tigh
School.

to learn and take on a different lead." Crump said.
Before becoming a cheerleader, Crump was a bowler
and she began playing fastpitch eight or nine years ago.
She said she plans on playing fastpitch again this year.
"Cheerleading and fastpitch use the same muscles so
when fastpitch starts I'm nor as sore getting in work-
outs." Crump said.
She added that she enjoys cheering and playing

fastpitch she mostly plays third base -- an equal
amount.
While in school, Crump isn't part of any clubs, stating
a lack of interest in them, but she keeps her grades up,
and her favorite class

Crump even dyes her own hair, which is currently
black on the bottom and blond on top.
She said she would like to be a hair stylist for a career
or a massage therapist.
"Massage looks like something that's a challenge and
you're always meeting new people," Crump said.
For fun, Crump plays on her mother's slowpitch team,
the Fuddpuckers.
"It's a lot different than fastpitch," she said. "You have
to set yourself for the pace of the ball and it's competitive
but mostly for fun."
