ROUNDUP Shehon Boys basketball The Climbers had an Evergreen Conference game rescheduled and a nonleague game against Sammamish canceled Saturday. , The Highclimbers were scheduled t play Aberdeen at home on senior night Tuesday and Will travel to Centralia to- day for a league game. Shelton ends the regular season Monday in Rochester. Girls basketball Shelton fell to Rochester 48—39 on Jan. 26 in an Evergreen Conference game at Terry Gregg Court. ' The Highclimbers traveled to Ab- erdeen on Wednesday and finish the regular season Friday on senior night against Centralia. Bowling The Shelton girls bowling team ended their season at the District 4 2A girls bowling tournament Jan. 25 at Westside Bowling in Olympia. Shelton had a team-high game of 693, and each of the three games were over 600. Sophomore Josefina Fran- cisco-Zazarias had a high game of 165. Sophomore Marsybel Hernandez-Zac- arias led the team with a 154 average, 122 pins over her average. The seven varsity bowlers for the Highclimbers at districts were se- nior Camilla Crow, junior Summer Foreman, senior Audrey Knauf, se- nior Jillian Meirndorf, senior Kylee Moore, Francisco-Zacarias and Hernandez-Zacarias. Boys swimming The Shelton boys finished fourth overall and were the top 2A team at the I Southwest Washington Invite on Sat- urday at Dick Mealy Memorial Pool at Mark Morris High School. . Shelton’s Tawan Benedict qualified for the state meet in the 100-yard but- terfly, earning the win with a time of 56.33 seconds. Benedict also finished sixth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.95. , . Charlie Morson placed fourth in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:49.32. An- drew Karr finished fifth in the 500- yard freestyle in 5:56.31 and ninth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:12.37. Judah Holzgrove placed sev- enth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:06.25 and eighth in the 200-yard indi- vidual medley in 2:25.94. Wyatt Anthis placed 10th in the 100-yard butterfly in ‘ 1:08.06. Coy Carter earned ninth place in the 500—yard freestyle in 6:10.97. The Shelton boys swim team trav- eled to Aberdeen on Wednesday. 8 Wrestling Shelton girls placed third as a team at the Berserker Wrestling Tourna- ment on Jan. 28 at Curtis High School in University Place. ‘ EliBeth Cervantes at 145 pounds and Aurora Marcy at 190 pounds each won their respective tournaments. Marcy won each match by fall, win- ning the championship match against. Vashon Island’s Alara Demir. Shelton has wrapped up the regular season and the boys will compete in the subregional tournament on Saturday at Black Hills High School in Tumwater. The girls will compete in subregionals in Hoquiam. ' North Mason Girls bowling North Mason’s Sarah Pruitt quali— fied for the state bowling tournament after competing in the district champi- onships on Jan. 28 at Paradise Lanes ' in University Place. Pruitt will compete Friday at Bowlero in Tukwila in them- dividual 2A state bowling tournament. Boys basketball The Bulldogs dropped a pair of Olympic League boys basketball games against Sequim and Olympic last week. North Mason lost 64-44 on Jan. 24 in Sequim and fell 57—54 to Olympic on Jan. 26 in Bremerton. North Mason hosted Bainbridge on Tuesday for senior night. The Bulldogs travel to North Kitsap on Friday for the final league game of the season and hit the road Saturday to face Klahowya in the season finale. Wrestling The North Mason wrestling team defeated Port Angeles 45-30 and Bain— bridge 57-6 in an Olympic League dual meet Friday in Port Angeles.
