Ritner hit for 17 and Joe Earl 12.
Four teams are camped right
on Methodist l's tail, one game
behind with 3-1 records, and one
of them, Mr. Olive, gets a crack
at the unbeaten leaders tonight in
the 7:30 game at Lincoln gym.
Two others, Catholic and Metho-

Lethargic and error-plagued
HighclimT~er hoopmen put them-
selves in a first quarter hole fr()m
which they never managed io ex-
tracate themselves Friday night in
Shelton gym and that cost then]
a 67-56 non-league decision io
West Bremerton.
WESt took greedy advantage of
Shelton mislakes and hauled off
to an 18-4 advantage of the first
5 3/4 minutes of play. After that
it was to() late even though the
Climbers outseored the Wildcats
for the next 26U~ minuLes.

icit to 22-15 with a string of six
eonsecutive points from Larry
Powell, Tom Fredson and Mike
Brickert but they eonldn't sustain
the comeback and trailed by 35-25
at the half. The 10-point margin
held after the final intermission,
too, at 45-35, and never got under
nine at any time in the last per-
iod.
The Climbers lacked the sharp
edge which had distinguished their
play prior to last week, both in
their shooting and ball handling.
An exception was Dale Huff-
man, quick-hqnded Walls Walla
transfer, who entered the game
late and hnstlcd to nine points in
short order.
Powell led Climber scoring with
17 and Brickert had 1]. Powell
had a big night on the backboards
with 21 rebounds and was princi-
pally responsible for Shelton's 54-
~0 edge in that department. But
West outshot the home forces

Shelton's visit to North Kitsap
1his Friday night takes seeond
billing in Olympic AA basketball
hnportance to East Bremerton's
trek up the peninsula to Port An-
geles.
These pairings, along with Cen-
Lral's trek to South, sLart the re-
turn-game portion of the Olympic
league schedule. Each team has
met every other ent,'y at this point
and now they start in reversing
the visitations of the first half
of the slate.
The Highclimbers will have to
shake the slump which gripped
them in theii- two losses last week
to East trod We~t or they could
I~e in for a bit of trouble at North
tomorrow. Although the Vikings
continue to lose they have shown
improvement of late and their two
losses last week were by less than
10 points in both cases.
The Climbers looked better in
their non-leag~m success at Tum-
water Saturday, whicl~ may be
due in part to the weaker opposi-
tion the Thunderbirds provided.
One thine is sure, the Climbers
can't afford any lethargic perfor-
mance against the improving Vik-
ings. * * *
