in the third they were down by
eight more points. The Climbers
once again outshot Centralia, this
time 28-10, and doubled their
opponent 64-32 at the end of the
period.
Again in the final quarter a
Shelton sophomore was slipped
into the lineup. This time Chris
McGee was given the job and he
took advantage of the chance for
varsity action. He outscored every
player on the court in the quarter,
hitting nine points, eight from the
field and one from the line.
Centralia turned the tables
this time, outscoring the Climbers
by five but the 22 points proved
to be too little, too late.
Mike Bariekman made
Mike Baze and Todd Brewer, who
had 14. Randy Bostrom hit 12.
All three hit consistently from the
outside. The versatile Tuson hit
from both inside and outside for
eight and was followed by Dale
Campagna with four. John
Vernon added a freethrow.
Shelton's jayvees beat the
Tigers 59-53.
Sam Martin topped the
scoring attack with 16, followed
by Fitchett with 13, JeffMcGee
9, Chris McGee 7, L~irry Baze 6,
John Vernon 2, Roger Ayers 2,
and Dale Campagna 2.
Shelton came up with another
victory as the sophomores also
downed Centralia 52-42. Marty
Rae was high point man with 22.

Shelton scored steadily
throughout the game, never
falling behind and being "ahead by
as much as 38 points at a time.
On the other hand, Centralia
didn't play enough team ball and
couldn't keep up with Shelton as
it did in the first half of the
season, losing only by two, 55-53.
The Climbers came out with
the first basket and sank 18 in the
quarter compared to Centralia's
12. The Tigers' hot.shooting Mike
Debruler was held to four in the
quarter and 12 for the game.
Reserve center Dan Fitchett
came off the bench for Mark
Tuson in the second period. The
lanky sophomore played the pivot
well, grabbing two offensive
rebounds and leading Climber
scoring for the quarter as he
dumped in six of his seven points.
