basketball team hosted the
Charles Wright Academy Terriers
and upset them.
Coach Sally Cassidy was
unable to attend, so varsity coach
Jan Johnson stepped in and led
the girls to a 31-28 victory.
Ms. Johnson had this to say
about the game, "Schillinger
(Karla) and Barrow (Tammy)
couldn't miss in the first half.
They were hotter than
firecrackers."
The Bulldogs were way ahead
in the third quarter and Johnson
started substituting like crazy.
When the score reached CWA 22
and NM 24, she got worried and
put the starting line-up back in, in
a hurry. Says Johnson, "The
defense was so-o-o tight. 1 think
Kerry Burrell did a fine job of
setting the ball in."
The highlight of the game
appeared to be when Eileen Reece
scored her first two points of the
season.
The girls track team is getting
ready to start practice on Mar. 5.
They will have six meets this year
and the schedule is as follows:

Zech pumped in 19 points and
hauled in eight rebounds the
Bulldogs couldn't close the gap.
Mason Bulldogs bit Orting and
threw them in the doghouse with

the hoopsters with 19 total points
and Mitch Halley followed with
eight. Leading rebounders were
Dan Washburn and MiLch Harley.
Harlen OileR, J.V. coach,
said, "Orting beat us handily the
first game so this was nice
revenge. The team did a great job
offensively and dominated the
boards on both ends. I am
impressed with their progress in
the past two weeks, especially
Mitch Haileyand Tim Zech. Tim is
averaging 18 points a game for the
past six games. If we continue to
improve these next three weeks,
