have been raised together we
would like them to be adopt-

are quite the dynamic duo.
They are very playful and

I hope you saw last week's headline
for the column. It asked for a volunteer
to chair the Indoor/Outdoor Garage
Sale. This has become a popular event
and a great fundraiser for our old commu-
nity hall. Arlen Morris is stepping down
as chair but -- very importantly -- she
would continue to be available to share her
knowledge on the garage sale. No chair, no
sale. Please call Jeff Roberge, 239-4720 to
volunteer.
There are two more upcoming events
that I hope many of you islanders might be
able to attend. The first is Feb. 17. This is
for Turning Pointe and it is a fundraiser
at the Grove Street Brewery. They will be
there from 5-9 p.m. Turning Pointe is the
domestic violence shelter in Shelton. They
have some 50 beds and those beds always
seem to be in use. That means they need
money to help those in great need.
So, for your part, you can have some fun,
eat and drink some great foods and partici-
pate in the silent auction. There will also
be live music performed by guitarist Billy
Farmer.
The second event is the annual Ki-
wanis Crab and Clam Dinner. This event
will be held at Pioneer School on March
24. As always, there will be lots and lots
of great food, a silent and live auction and
a crowd of your neighbors and friends who
like to get together and help this commu-
nity and its school.
