Garrick said that he had
high expectations for him-
self after success at the ju-
nior high school level.
! "But if you were to ask
me at the beginning of the
season [about winning a
league title], I would have
said no becausee there's
a lot of good people at my
weight," he said.
"He's got a ton of wres-
tling experiencee and he
showed it in that [champi-
onship] match," Lacy said.
Junior Colby Barber
defeated Olympia High
School's Tanner Wright in
the 160-pound champion-
ship match.
Trailing 14-13, Barber
made a reversal by swining
around Wright and turned
him into the pinfall with
1:06 left in the third period.
"He started with some
good motion and his hips
were higher," Lacy said.
"He then hooked him and
put him on his back."
Juniors Adam Coffman
(140 pounds) and Johna-
then Dennis (171 pounds)
finished second in their
weight classes.
With the top four ad-
vancing to this weekend's
4A Regionals at Shelton,

of the league tournament -

at 145) and Ben Anderson
(fourth at 215).
Lacy said the rest of
the Highclimbers helped
the team reach their goals

Smith (125), Skylar Core
(130), Nathan Morgan
(135), Dylan Corey (fifth at

While the boys competed
at Foss High School in the
4A Narrows League tourna-
ment, Shelton High School's
Kale Shivers won her sec-
ond career sub-regional title
at the girls sub-regional
tournament at Auburn
Mountainview High School
in Auburn on Saturday.
Shivers took first in the
ll9-pound division and ad-
vances to the girls regional
wrestling tournament to be
hosted at Oakland Bay Ju-
nior High School in Shelton.
Girls regional wrestling
tournaments combine com-
petitors from all classifica-
tions in the area, including
2A, 3A and 4A.
"It's exciting for it to be at
Shelton," Shivers said. "My
family won't have to travel
that far."
Shivers, who qualified
for last season's state girls
wrestling tournament, was
forced to withdraw due to
illness, which concluded a
season that Shivers said
was a "bad year."
"I told myself that I could
do it [win sub-regionals],"
she said.

he was happy with how the
Highclimbers competed
with a "togetherness" not
seen last season, where
Shelton missed out on ad-
vancing to state.
"I think that this was
one of the best teams I have
coached because they're so
close," Snyder said.
