finish Season at state

North Mason’s Sar—
ah Pruitt and Isabella
Oblizalo each finished
the bowling season at
the 2A state tourna-
ment on Feb. 4 at Nar-
rows Bowl Plaza in
University Place.
Pruitt finished with
games of 118, 115, 171
and 118 for a series total
of 522. Oblizalo finished
106 and 128 for a series
total of 458.
“Wow, the state tour-
nament was great, what
an experience for our
girls. We saw the very
best out there on Fri—
day and know what to
expect moving forward,”
North Mason coach Rob
Thomas told the Journal
in an email. “Sarah and
Isabella did great over—
all. When you bow1 your
first year and make it
to state it can be a little
overwhelming to say the
least. I know that the
girls enjoyed their time
and I fully expect both
of them to be back here
next year either as indi-
viduals or as a team. Su—
per proud of your girls.

ics is hosting Athletic Orientation .
Night at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 24 at the
Mini-Dome.
According to a news release, Shel-
ton coaches and administrators will
share important information and

The Shelton boys. basket-
ball team lost to Tumwater
51—42 in an Evergreen Confer-
ence game Feb. 4 in, Tumwa-
ter before ending the regular
season with a 67—39 win on '
the road against Aberdeen on
Monday. ‘
The Highclimbers (9-7, 7-5)
finished the regular season
fourth in the EvCo standings.
Shelton travels to Greater St.
Helens League No. 5 Colum-
bia River in a loser out game
to enter the double-elimina-
tion District 4 2A boys bas-
ketball tournament. If Shel-
ton wins, they will play the
GSHL champion R.A. Long in
Longview on Saturday.
Girls basketball
The Highclimbers girls bas—
- ketball season fell in all three
games last week to end its season.
Shelton lost to Tumwater 54-13 at
home' Feb. 3 and lost to Centralia 47-
17 at home Feb. 4 and ended the sea-
son on senior night with a 61-23 loss to
V Aberdeen.
Shelton ended the regular season
0-16 overall.
Boys swimming
Shelton ended the regular season by
securing the league title with a 93-60
win against Aberdeen in an Evergreen
Conference swim meet Feb. 3 at Shel-
ton High School. .
' In the ZOO-yard freestyle, Shelton’s
Charlie Morson won with a time of
2:10.69, and he won the 500-yard free-
style with a time of 5:57.91. Sean Mor-
son won the ZOO-yard individual medley
‘ with a timeof 2:26.91. Abram Ordonez
won the 100—yard butterfly with a time
of 1:03.41 and the 100-yard backstroke

anxieties, get athletes ready for sports
and be excited to be a Highclimber.
The evening is planned to wrap up by
8 p.m. and athletes are encouraged
to bring their parents and guardians.

and Sean Morson won with a time of

Brady Walsh and Coy Carter Won with
a time of 1:52.99. The 400-yard free-
style relay of Charlie Morson, Ordonez,
Roman Watkins and Sean Morson won
with a time of 4:02.63. .
Shelton will compete at the district
tournament at 1 p.m. Friday at Mark
Morris High School in LongviveSean
Morson is the district’s top-ranked
swimmer in the 100-yard breaststroke
and ranked third in the ZOO-yard indi-
vidual medley. Andrew Karr is ranked
second in the 500-yard freestyle and
Abram Ordonez is ranked third in the
100-yard butterfly. The ZOO-yard med-
ley relay of Ordonez, Sean Morson, W -
att Anthis and Charlie Morson and the
200-yard freestyle relay of Anthis, Karr,
Ordonez and Sean Morson are ranked

Girlsbasketball
The Bulldogs won two out of four
games last week in Olympic League
games to end the season.
North Mason hosted Bainbridge on .
Feb. 1 and won 42—38 before defeating
Olympic 61—41 on Feb. 2 in Belfair. The
Bulldogs traveled to Poulsbo on Feb, 3
and lost to North Kitsap 50-28. The‘Vi- ,
kings came to Belfair on Tuesday and
won, 50—42. '
The Bulldogs finished the regular
season 5—11 overall and 3-11 in league
games.
Boys basketball
The North Mason boys basket-
ball team lost four games in four days
last week in Olympic League
games. '
The Bulldogs lost 64-44 to
Bainbridge on Feb. 1 on the
road before dropping a game
to Bremerton 68-46 on Feb. 2'
in Bremerton. North Mason
returned home Feb. 3 to take
on defending state champion
North Kitsap and lost 102-22.
Sequim traveled. to Belfair on
Feb. 4 and lost 58-38.

.The Mary M. Knight boys
basketball lost on the road to
Taholah 66-41 on Feb. 4 before
ending the regular season at '
home with a 64-47 win against
Elma’s C—team on Tuesday.
The Owls entered the 1B Dis—
trict 4 boys basketball tourna-
ment as the No. 4 seed out of the Coast-
al League, and face Pe Ell in Matlockat
6 p.m. today in a loser—out game.
Girls basketball ‘
The Owls girls basketball team com-
pleted the regular season withtwo wins
and a loss in Coastal League games.
‘Mary M. Knight defeated North-
west Christian (Lacey) 28—22 at home
Feb. 3 before hitting the road to take
on Taholah in a 63—21 loss Feb. 4. The
Owls ended the regular season with
a 46—32 win at home Monday against
WishkahValley.
Mary M. Knight ended the regular
seasonsecond in the Coastal Division
and will host a 1B District 4 girls bas-
ketball tournament game at 6 p.m. Feb.
14 against the winner of Naselle and a
play-in game winner.
