Rain causes
flooding
ABOVE: The swollen Skokomish River floods
farmland Friday morning, as seen from Shelton
River Road off U.S. Highway 101. According to the
National Weather Service, up to 6 inches of rain
fell during a 24-hour period on the east side of the
Olympic Mountains. The river commonly floods the
area after moderate or heavy rainfall. AT LEFT: The
Skokomish River floods a fireworks stand on state
Route 106.

the list goes on. But, too often the health of a womaEs heart is overlooked. Each year,
1 in 3 women die of heart disease and stroke. February is American Heart Month and
the perfect time to make a heart-healthy change, starting with a wellness checkup and
risk assessment with your physician.
