REHABILITATION OF A GRAVEL PARKING
LOT WITH PAVEMENT, LANDSCAPING, AND
STORMWATER IMPROVEMENTS Application

Application Submitted: February 5,
Project Location/Description: 425 West Cota
Street. The project site is located on a City of
Shelton owned piece of property bounded on
the north by Cota Street, on the west by South
5th Street, and on the east by South 4th Street.
The City of Shelton plans the rehabilita-
tion of its existing gravel parking lot located im-
mediately east of the Shelton Civic Center. The
parking lot is used for City_of Shelton vehicles
and staff parking. On weekends the parking lot
is utilized for public parking and overflow park-
ing for the United Methodist Church located im-
mediately north of the site. The proposal would
provide for regrading of the entire site, demoli-
tion of the existing single family residence lo—
cated at South 5th. Street, in favor of the in-
stallation of a paved parking lot with parking for
approximately vehicles. The proposal would
include landscaping around the perimeter as
well as internal portions of'the parking lot, in—
stallation of comprehensive storm drainage in
th_e parking lot and adjacent alley, provision
of a stormwater treatment pond in the Site of
the former residence, and the installation of a
reduced size basketball court on the east side
of the site for public use. The court would be
striped for both basketball and pickleball. A final
SEPA determination regarding the applications
will not be made before February 28,
