Judy and I drove the
white winter wonder-
land this past Sunday -
the island was beautiful. Ev-
erything seems to take on a
special beauty when
it is covered in snow.
We drove down into
the canyon at the
end of South Island
Drive and it was
just spectacular.
The walls drifted up
on both sides and
the snow covered
every sword fern,
"every bare alder
limb and every ev-
ergreen branch that usually
shouts out "I'm green, emer-
ald green, lime green, mint
green." But not Sunday, ev-
erything looked like it should
be in a Christmas picture.
One more snowy thing -
I'm not saying anything about
the top of my driveway, but
as we passed my collection of
wonderful stuff, Judy said,
"even your junk looks good
covered in snow."
I made a date mistake

upcoming Pioneer Kiwanis
