Leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus. “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” — John 13:35 NLT 1 remember when we lived in Boise, ldaho. l was a real little kid, 8 or 9 years old, and my parents had just bought a house in the country/ suburbs. We lived on a gravel dirt road, and had an acre in back. When we jumped the ditch at the end ofour acre, we were on the school field-1 the elementary school I went to. The neighbor next door to me was a Seventh— Day Adventist. The neighbors across the street were Catholic. Both families had kids my age, and I was allowed to play with both, becausewe weren’t practicing Catholics anymore, but we weren’t Adventist either. They were not allowed to play together. ’lhat was my introduction to ‘ sabbath—keeping, and l was a little kid—~I just thought it was interesting people went to church on Saturday! lol...When 1 got older, 1 found out they believe in Jesus, too — they just honor the seventh day Sabbath of the 4th commandment. tbc@sheltonfbc.org Mount Olive . G Religion has broken up more families, friends, and societies because everyone wants to feel like they are right and everyone else is wrong. Is being right so important it is worth losing friends over? Jesus did say we would lose friends, and betray each other, but I always assumed that was in a believer/nonbeliever situation. Now 1 am seeing that even the way we love Jesus divides us. Jesus would be so sad! I love each and every one of my friends. I love them even if they don’t agree with me. We can be different religions, and still love each other, without judging each other. We can ‘love our neighbor as oursele as Jesus commands us to do, by sharing Jesus, and what He teaches in the Bible with each other, and everyone we meet..Jesus is whatall of our religions have in common! We can hope, by showing the right example, our actions will draw the people we share with to us. Jesus drew people to Him by being- compassionate, kind and loving. Not everyone will like us. That’s okay. Everyone did not like Jesus either. But we can do our part followingJesus and loving each other. That way the whole world will know we are His disciples! “’Ihere is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13 Jesus is the best gift of all! i i M mzwmwewawntm: rui Sunday Service 10:00 am.
