The Rotary Foundation
and Skookum Rotary hon-
ored the Shelton-Mason
County Journal at its Feb. 6
club meeting.
Publisher John Lester
was at the meeting to accept
the Certificate of Apprecia—
tion from the Rotary Foun-
dation. The certificate is the
equivalent of a Paul Harris
Fellow membership, but is
given to organizations that
help the cause of humani—
tarian service around the
world.
“The Journal staff worked
tirelessly to help our club’s
major fundraising event,
OysterFest. OysterFest is
Mason County’s largest an‘
nual event and provides
much needed funding for our
Mason County four Rotary
clubs, other Mason County
service clubs and our not—
for-profit charitable organi-
zations who participate.
“Journal staff worked
extremely hard to help get
word out before each event
and provide a full section
of the paper after each an—
nual OysterFest event has
been completed. Public at—
tendance at OysterFest has
been approximately 12,000
people each year for the first
full weekend in October,”
the Rotary said in a news
release. Journal Publisher John Lester with Skookum Rotary’s Public
Relations Chair Laurie Brown. Courtesy photo
