Obituaries Kathryn Mary Raymon Gelormini Hillman Kathryn Mary Gelormini, 99, died February 14, 2011 at Mason General Hospital. She was a resident of Shelton for three and a half years. She was born May 9, 1911 to John and Margaret (Cro- nin) O'Sullivan in County Cork, Ireland. She married Joseph Gel- ormini. She was a past member of the Moose and enjoyed gar- dening, sewing and making potholders. She is survived by her daughters Margaret Knox of Summers, Ariz., Carmella Marshall of Westville, Okla. and Kathryn Webster of Shelton, five grandchildren and four great-grandchil- dren. Wilma Jean Hennig Wilma Jean (Conn) Hen- nig, 79, Died February 8, 2011 at her home in Shel- ton. She was a resident of Shelton for 10 years. She was born March 17, 1931 to Frida May Conn and Clarence Elmer Conn. She married Robert Hen- nig in August 1993 in Shel- ton. She had two previous marriages, Hugh Guenther and Oris David Miller, both deceased. She worked as an elec- tronics assembler. She enjoyed collecting bears, dolls, arts and crafts and liked fishing. She also enjoyed home maintenance and repair and collecting winnings when going to the casino. She is survived by her sis- ter Irene Trivitt of Stockton, Calif.; brother Eddy Conn of Chicago, Ill.; son Oris Miller (Kerry) of Redwood City, Calif. and Charles Miller of Kennewick; grand- daughters Kim Peters of Brownsburg, Ind., Heather Walz of Fillmore, Ind. And Claudia Miller of Shelton; great-grandson Sam Pavey of Indianapolis, Ind.; great- granddaughter Tori Smell- ing of Brownsburg, Ind.; stepson Sam Hennig of Mountain Grove, Mo.; Step daughter Deborah Dunith- an (Jim) of Shelton, Judith Reese of Shelton and Susan- na Hennig of Poulsbo and step-granddaughter Aman- da Norcross of Shelton. She was preceded in death by her parents; broth- er Kenneth Conn; daughter Donna Jean Miller and son Robert Carl Miller. Inurnment Indianapolis, Ind. Raymon Charles Hill- man, 58, died February 3, 2011 at St. Peters Hospital in Olympia from complica- tions related to cancer. He was a resident of Shelton for 10 years. He was born January 20, 1953 to Alfred C. and Mary Joe (Solomon) Murphy at St. Josephs in Tacoma. H e worked in mainte- nance and as a cook at Spencer Lake Bar and Gill. Raymon He en- Charles joyed land- Hillman s c a p i n g, family, friends, four wheeling, his dogs and playing "up words." He liked making fudge and his family states he really liked work- ing at the Spencer Lake Bar and Grill. Survivors include his mother Mary Joy Murphy and her husband Pat Mur- phy; father Alfred C. Hill- man and wife Marlene; sisters Linda Autry, Sandy Sanders and Janet Hender- son, brothers Dennis Hill- man, Jeff and Dave Jacobs and many nieces and neph- ews and great-nieces and nephews survive him. A service is planned at 1 p.m. Feb. 12, 2011 at Spen- cer Lake Bar and Grill. Katrina Margaree Kirkwood Katrina Margaree Kirk- Wood, 91, died February 8, 2011 at Shelton Health and Rehabilitation Center in Shelton. She was a resident of Shelton for two and half years. She was born January 11, 1920 to George and Susan (Abercrombie) Pickering in Kola, Miss. She married Arthur Kirkwood in 1954 in Shreve - port, La. He was Katrina p r e v i o u s Margaree m a r r i a g e Kirkwood to Bailey Longoria (deceased). She was manager for Tall's Travel in Seattle from 1956-1964. She also man- aged Imperial Apartments She was a member of the Baptist Church in Bellevue. She was an avid reader her family states. Steven Edward Strand Steven Edward Strand, 55, died February 9, 2011 in Lacey. He was a resident of Shelton for 12 years. He was born April 11, 1955 to Donald and Betty (McHenry) Strand in Puyal- lup. He graduated from Olym- pia High School in 1973. H e married Lou Ann Corbin July 26, 1986 in Tacoma. Steven He was Edward a lifelong carpenter. Strand He was a mem- ber of the Carpenter Union #1148. His hobbies included woodworking, photography, hiking in the Olympics and sailing on his boat. He en- joyed baseball and was an avid supporter of his son's games. His family shared that he was also an avid reader, enjoyed the History Channel and was good at baking bread. He was born June 5, 1925 to Dwight and Lois Pierce. He met and married Emma M. Proctor in 1945. They were married 65 years and had five sons. He was a gunner in the U.S. Navy and fought in WWII. He was born July 7, 1938 to Walter Ernest and Alice May (Lloyd) Twidwell in R:aymond. He served in the U.S. Axmy in Korea. He married Leora Bur- g;ess; the marriage ended in divorce. He was a mill worker for Simpson Timber Co. retir- ing in 1996. He had worked there for 38 years. He was a member of the Eagles and the IWA. Richard Lee Wokojance Richard Wokojance, 81, died February 5, 2011, in Shelton, due to complica- tions of lung cancer. He was born to Frank and Billie Mae Wokojance in Lansing, Ohio, on August 11, 1929. Until moving to Shelton in 1942, he and his fam- ily lived mainly in Craig, Col- orado. He was fond of telling his grand- children of his adven- tures with Richard Lee his friends Wokojance c 1 i m b i n g what he called "the rim rocks," or trying to catch wild horses, or having en- counters with rattlesnakes. After graduating from Irene S. Reed High School in 1947, he joined the Marine Corps in'January 1948, and was honorably discharged two years later. On August 14, 1949, he married Feryl Shafer and they shared 62 years to- gether. He was employed at Shel- ton Fiber Board Plant for two years and then began working at the ITT Rayoni- er Research Lab, where he stayed until his retirement in 1992. His family said he en- joyed the outdoors and took them on many camping and hiking trips, teaching them about the outdoors and na- ture. Much time was spent in the Cascades, Olympic Mountains and one time on a great adventure in the Ca- nadian Rockies. His special joy was his home and making his acre= age into a beautiful park where his family, especially the grandchildren, enjoyed visiting and camping. Ev- eryone remembers his large garden and how much he enjoyed growing his own produce and giving so much away to friends and neigh- bors, even throwing the corn stalks over the fence for the neighbor's cows who would see him coming and run to the fence for his special handout. His family said he took pride in working hard and was always happy to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He had numerous friends and will be truly missed by many, including his beloved family. He is survived by his wife, Feryl; son Rick (Susan) Wo- kojance and their sons, Kelii (Persis) Wokojance, Jacob and Taron; daughter, Terri Craig and her sons Ivon and Tobin; daughter, Kar- en (Dave) Smith and their children, Amy (Jeremy) Ab- bott, Amber (Steve) Egan, Ty Smith; daughter Tracey Driver (Terry) and children Alicea (Isaac) Swett, Ryan Seibold; great granddaugh- ters Ana Kate and Natalie Abbott, and Vivienne and Leala Swett; sister, June McPherson of Mesa, Ariz.; brother Frank Wokojance of Shelton; brother, Rodney Wokojance of Battleground and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Joyce Miller and Ruth Gibson and brother, Jon Wokojance. He married Kathryn Sollock August 5, 1988, in Shclton. His first marriage to Karen Fuller ended in divorce. He worked for Simpson Timber Co. from 1977 to 1989 and the Mason County Road Department from 1989 to present. Jerry loved going on hunting trips with his children and friends. He loved the outdoors, his pack mules and his trips to the mountains. He was an avid fisherman that enjoyed his time on the river. He enjoyed trips to the casino with his wife and mother and will be missed as the best dad ever. He is survived by his wife Kathryn Ward of Shelton. Wash.; mother Shirley Ward of Shelton; sons Jared Ward of Shelton and Jordan Ward of Shelton; daughter Carly Mae Ward of Shelton; sister Barbara Bearden of Shclton: brother Benny Ward of Ore. and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
