velopment proposal. After a ecoplng pedod of
21 days (extended to 30 days for publication

to complete an Environmental Impact State-

applicant is proposing to excavate approx-
imately 4.6 million cubic yards (c.y.) of sand
and gravel from 95 acres of a 153 acre forested
parcel (123 acres of site disturbance). Excava.
lion is proposed to a depth of approximately 40
to 50 feet below surrounding grade. The sur-
face mine will contain a gravel screening and
crushing plant.

State Department of Transportation that the
posted speed limit of 50 MPH on SR 3 between
MP 22.49 and MP 22.81 will be reduced to a
legal speed limit of 25 MPH and will be signed
accordingly.
This speed limit reduction is necaseery to
ensure safe traffic operations and enhance the
safety of the travellng public until such a time
that the roadway can be rebuilt in Its final con-
figuration. The speed reduction will be in effect
24 hours a day until completion of the allde re-
