SOUTHSIDE - The Southside
"Jumping Jills" recently
performed in Puyallup before an
all school assembly.
Afterwards they received a
letter of appreciation from the
school.
The students recently watched
a performance of "The Emperor's
New Clothes" put on by the
Shelton High School drama class.
Southside basketball team won
over Pioneer, 46-44.
Danny Eveleth seventh grader
was a page for State Sen. Gordon
Sandison.
The president's physical fitness
test will be coming up soon and is
open to sixth and seventh graders.

and an emblem for their jackets.
February l0 the Live Wires 4-H
Club met at the home of Susie
Hallberg.
President, Lori Goldsby, called
the meeting to order and
secretary Debbie Goldsby read
the roll and took the minutes.
There was no old business.
In new business, they went
over the 4-H calendars and
discussed Demonstration Day
which is March 14.
The meeting was adjourned and
they watched two
demonstrations.
Then after that they had their
Valentine's party.
Jane, Jean and Joan, triplet
daughters of Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Trotzer, celebrated their
birthday on Valentine's Day.
Helping the triplets celebrate with
cake and ice cream were Mr. and
Mrs. Norman Trotzer, Tom,
Linda, Beverly and Patricia and
Mr. and Mrs. Kathleen Hood and
baby of Olympia.
The Four Leaves 4-H group had
a Valentine's party at leader, Mrs.
Helen Bakke's Feb. 1 4.

The adults in Shelton are going
back to school!
Olympic College has opened
the door for grown-ups to further
their education with a minimum of
effort and expense here in Shelton,
and in the evening hours.
Each quarter, the classes
offered bring a bigger and better
response. Policemen and
Corrections Center officers are
taking courses in law enforcement
and psychology; housewives are
knitting, typing and writing
compositions; undergraduate
college students are picking up
history ; science and English credits
and some of the "older
generation" are back at the desks
working on their three "R's", to
pick up their High School
diplomas.
A real cross-section of our
citizens are attending these night
classes, and discovering the
satisfaction of tackling a job
improvement course, meeting the
kind of people they will be
working with and some have even
made new job contacts.
