Senior group votes to pursue
ion for new center
and other events.
During Monday's
tour, MCSAA bookkeep-
er Jan Heck of Shelton
said she can envision
the senior center in the
building.
"It's so much bigger
than the space we have
now," she said. "It has all
the things we have now,
on a better level. It's ex-
citing."
The MCSAA states
that if it moves its se-
nior center, it could
move its Nifty Thrifty
Store into the current
5,500-square-foot senior
center.

About 120 seniors got the red carpet treatment Monday as they toured The Pavilion at Sentry
Park, to see whether the 16,000-square-foot building would adequately replace the crowded
Shelton senior center. They apparently left impressed -- the next day, members of the
Mason County Senior Activities Association overwhelmingly authorized the group's board of
directors to pursue buying the building for $850,000 to replace the crowded Shelton
senior center.

The members voted
146-22 to purchase the

Shaw said.
"Our organization's
goal is to be in the fa-
cility by midsummer,
and will honor events
currently scheduled,"
MCSAA President John
Wyatt stated in a news
release.
The building is owned
by Mike Fox, owner of
Sentry Mini Storage in
Shelton.
Among the features
are a 6,000-square-foot
grand ballroom that in-
cludes a 2,400-square-
foot oak dance floor, a
separate bar area, and
a state-of-the-art sound
and video system.
On Monday, about 120
