Health Briefs Free course for people with chronic conditions The six-week program "Living Well," designed to help people with long-term health conditions, is present- ed by Mason General Hospi- tal & Family of Clinics and Maple Glen Senior Living. It will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays from March 5 to April 9 at Maple Glen Senior Living, 1700 N. 13th Loop Road, Shelton. The program is free to anyone who suffers from a chronic health condition or long-term disability, such as heart or respiratory condi- tion, arthritis, chronic pain, fatigue, or depression from a debilitating illness. The pro- gram was developed at Stan- ford University, and is fund- ed in part by a grant from the Thurston-Mason County Area Agency on Aging. 'Living Well' course offered The nonprofit organization Faith in Action is offering a free course on living well with chronic health conditions. It will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays starting this Tuesday, through April 2 at North Mason United Meth- odist Church, 25140 N.E. State Route 3, Belfair. The course offers practi- cal ways to live in a health- ier way. Topics include con- trolling pain, dealing with stress and isolation, and eating well.
