Harvey: North Mason’s first Winter play in recent years ;

Through rehearsals; the cast has
explored not just the storyline, but
each character’s personality traits and
how each character’s quirks intertwine
onstage. A common thread among the
cast was the joy in acting out the play’s
more dramatic elements, including
brisk back-and-forth dialogue, shout-
ing and chasing, all within by a 1940s
aesthetic.
Alexis Powell, a senior at North
Mason. High School, who plays the
main role of Elwood, said she most en-
joys acting out the scenes where her
character is most eccentric. New to
the world of theater, Powell said she
wanted to try a new activity in her se-
nior year.
“This is the first play I’ve been in
since elementary school,” Powell said.
